Natsu's POV:
She's sleeping. Good. I don't need to hear her babbling about how wrong I am for what I said. But by the way she discarded my insult, that alone told me that she probably thinks I'm right.

I leaned on the walls of the cavern, looking out at the night sky. I feel like flying, I thought, without her following me.

Ah, but I can't do that because that stupid King Jude made me sign a useless contract to keep her by my side. This wasn't even part of the deal...

Maybe I can toss her aside...maybe drop her off at the next village. Or she can really be my slave, and do as I say and all that. Like a servant to his master..

I glanced at the girl. She looked peaceful, her blonde hair stranded on all sides, her dress all torn and dirty, and her earrings dangling against the floor. She slept on her left side, facing me and the fire, her hands clasped against her chest. She looked warm and comfortable. Who knew a girl who has never been outside of her own castle, look so comfortable in the wild.

My eyes started getting all droopy and I soon drifted to sleep, the fire beginning to do so as well.

Moments later I felt burning heat against my cheek and woke up startled, tired, and angry.

"Okay, who do I need to punch in the face," I jumped up and bared my flames, showing my anger and annoyance in them.

"Watch out!" the princess warned. I immediately turned and ducked. Something is here and it's attacking us.

I jumped back, creating an equal distance between the enemy and myself. A shadowy figure was lurking around the inside of the cavern, blending with the darkness and launching surprise attacks on me.

"Show yourself! Quit hidin' and come face me like a man!" I relaxed a little, and used my senses to pinpoint where the enemy was.

My left.

No, my right.

It's moving too fast!

But I can be faster. I opened my eyes and launched forward. Right. That's where he is, I thought. I gathered my flames together to unleash one of my best attacks.

"Fire dragon iron fist!" I shouted as I hit something in the shadows, my flames illuminating the darkness.

Got 'cha now!
