After our ride home from church, my mom told me that her and my big sister Alicia, would be going out of town for a week, maybe even two. She said that they were going to go visit Alicia's dad in New York because he missed her and was soon to be getting married to his fiance. She advised me that I would be staying with Grandma. I felt like I was old enough to be left alone, as long as she left groceries and money I'd be alright.
"Mom, I'm 16, I know that's still a young age, but you know I'm very responsible, I can take care of myself for a week or two", I argued.
"Yea, Mom, I actually think this might be good for Sam. She can finally get a sense of adulthood and stop being such a baby about everything. She needs to grow up, she won't be 16 forever", Alicia agreed.
"I'll have to think about it, and let you know. But you're right, you're a good child, and I can trust you... Matter of fact, I agree, Okay, you can stay home alone while we're gone. But let's get a few rules straight", Mom said seriously.

Krystal picked me up for school the following morning. I was anxious to tell her and Tamara about my plans.
I texted T.
S: Need 2 talk. Big news.
T: K. C U @ school in 10.
"Krystal, so guess what?" I teased happily.
"Umm, you're ugly?", Krystal laughed.
"Shutup, no, my mom and Alicia are going out of town Friday for a week or two. I have the whole house to myself"
"Whaaaat! PAAAAARTY!!!!" Krystal yelled as she turned up her music and began to dance.
I turned down the music. "Uh no", I said sternly, "rules are, no parties, no having people over, all that bullshit."
"Yeah, I hear ya, but let's do something reckless! We're throwing a party, I don't care. You're not gonna get caught anyways."
She's right, I never do anything crazy. Paaarty time!
