Chapter Three

Quickly I hid from his view. Catching my breath, I Let my wolf sharpen my senses. I listened for any sign of noise, and sniffed for any strange sent.

Suddenly there where footsteps, running fast until the stopped behind me. There came a low voice, Laughing coldly. "Come out Winter... I can Smell you.." He laughed again . I heard him wander around until it stopped. Everything Went silent.

Suddenly a body smashed with me and Quickly I was pinned to the ground.

"Freaking IAN!" I said at he laughed

"You where too obvious" He said, helping me up from the ground.

" lets work on your self defense. Use your elbow and aim for my face." I swung, like he said and aimed for the face, he dodged, and kicked my knee. Before I knew It I was on the ground. Ian laughed.

"I saw you from a mile away" he said as I got up " here, chest facing forward. Use your lower body strength and wile you swing your whole body goes with your elbow." He said.

I try it and he dodges again but in surprise, and this time He doesn't trip me. "Good! You almost had my nose there" he laughed.

We then kept practicing and Ian kept showing me moves until,

"Alpha Ian! Winter! Come quick!! The Rouge, he has killed another!"

A voice, one of the omegas, and a wolf with him came running towards us.
Ian's smirk that was on all day had vanished.

"Where? Who?" Ian asked the omega. " South from here, you better see who it is.. follow Us!"

Immediately we where Running threw the forest.

Suddenly the sent of blood hit my nose, and I began to panic.

As we reached the the scene, Jake was there, his eyes her red and puffy, as if he where crying, and I knew why.

Blood everywhere.
And a body lay flat in the middle.

Shelby

In shock I backed away, days ago
I won her in battle and now she's dead.

Jake noticed my sudden panic and came in for a hug. gratefully, I hugged back. " She.. She's gone" I muttered.

"I wanted to get a fresh start.. I wanted to know her" I said, breaking from the hug, I looked for Ian who I'd hope would have been grieving too, he only carried the body with others in silence.

We followed them back to the house, as I spoke with jake.
" normally, the rouge does what he can to send us a message. Get his point across, he ends up killing those to change something that we are doing or stop whatever he wants from happening. Most of it is selfish butt it is what it is." He continued with sorrow. " he brings who he wants in and kills who he wants out."

The body of shelby was set in front of the house, slowly others came out with horrified looks, and soon a white sheet was placed over her.

" I don't know what ties the rouge has with Shelby though.. Other then the role he use to play in the pack, It could be anything."

As I watched Ian and some of the stronger men take Shelby's body out of sight I realized something.

He is the reason I was alone.

He took my friends, he turned my world into a lonely life, Spent years searching and searching for something.

Not only did he Rip my life apart. He ripped my body apart as well.

This rouge.. this San.. Is responsible for all these deaths and missing people.

I realized that I hated him, more then anything.

" I have bad news." Ian informed the pack after the call of a meeting.

"As you know, Our beta is gone. We don't know why, but as always it was San, the rouge." He said with grief.
We don't know why but as always, it was san, again." Ian said with grief
" Since we can't go on without a beta, Ive decided Winter will be the next Beta, this was a shock to us all, so she will say a couple of words."

Ian never told me this beforehand. My heart sped up as I stood up, and walked to Ian. He smiled at me as I took his place.

All eyes on me.

I felt week "I... Uh..." I started shakily, looking at Ian who just sat down.

We are now beta, we must help
My wolf said softly.

"I'm not much of a.. Um.. speaker" I gulped. "And I didn't know her well.." As I spoke, I looked at the tearful faces and My heart melted. My pack needed me...

"But she was someone with spirit, and determination. I only knew her for a short time and I will never take her place, but I knew she was loved by all of you and she showed that with pride. She would want us safe, and happy, we fight in her honor now"

I saw the heads lifting of one an other, they looked like I helped I felt as if that wasn't me speaking, But it was. I had told as much good as I could for someone who wanted me dead. I got a small applaud as I walked off.

Ian dismissed the crowd, and we decided to take a stroll in the woods.

We talked for a wile, on different topics he climbed a tree and teased me, I kept walking wile laughing.

I then heard a low voice stop me in my tracks.

"That was quite a speech." A low attractive voice boomed behind me.

I knew exactly who it was.

I heard footsteps come closer and I refused to look. I felt warm hands gently move my hair to one side, baring my neck, his breath brushing my bare skin.

His scent consumed my nose and my wolf went wild, Panting and howling in my mind.

Everything was silent, Ian ran towards me yelling "Don't you DARE TOUCH HER!!!"
"STOP! Im inches from her neck, I can kill her." He boomed

"C-can.. or will?" I ask in doubt. Still frozen. He only laughed. This was San. It had to be.

"Oh you are right my dear, San it is."
I ALMOST PEED MYSELF he read my Mind. How...

"Let me show you 'how...' " he said as he walked in front of me.

Immediately our eyes locked. His hair was golden, thick and straight, it almost covered his glowing, blood red eyes.

He had a perfect face. He was an angel.
His "assassin style hoodie" was a tight fit on his perfect body. his simple jeans complemented his black sneakers.

As I looked into his eyes, the word "mate." Barked out of my wolf and Muttered out of my mouth.

then I wished It hadn't. The rouge the one who ripped into my flesh was my mate.
