Chapter Seven
"Have a nice day, Oliver." my teacher said to me as I walked out the doors.
"You too." I mumbled in reply even though he didn't even hear me.
Suddenly, I froze in my tracks to see Ren standing in front of me, without Brian.
"Oliver..." she said, "Look - can we talk? Somewhere private?" she asked, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
That was something she did when she was insecure.
"I guess..." I replied.
"Come on. We'll walk and talk, then we'll go to the coffee shop at South?" she asked.
"Okay." I hesitated before I said 'okay'.

"I did love you, Oliver." Ren said, staring at the floor.
"Really?" I asked in disbelief, "If you really loved me, then why would you break up with me?"
"Honestly, I don't know. And now... I regret it. Because, I could've called you mine. But now I can't. I can't because I decided to end it. And now, you are free to get someone new, you're able to fall in love while I'm stuck with him. He isn't who I want. I want you, Olli." she said, her eyes were glassy.I was silent for a minute. "...Well, you can't always get what you want, Ren." I whispered.
And that hurt. Because as much as I wanted to say yes, I didn't know if she would actually stay with me.
