Chapter Eight

Her eyes filled with tears, and she nodded and said, "Okay. I'm sorry, Olli, I'm so, so sorry for ever breaking up with you, now I realize what I lost."

"Honestly, Ren, it's fine." I replied, giving her a small smile. "Anyway, are you done because I really need to get home."

"Oh, um, yeah, I'm done. Listen, I'll pay for the bill." she said, staring at me.

"No. Ren. I can't let you do that," I refused.

"I insist, after all it was my idea to come here in the first place, so I should pay the bill, right?" she said, smirking.

"Here, I'll make you a deal. We'll split the bill." I negotiated.

She sighed. "All right, I guess." she said, "That sounds good to me."

We both got up and walked to the cash register. Then I payed for my half and she did the same.

"So," Ren said, staring at her feet, "I guess this is goodbye, then?"

"No. Never 'goodbye.' Don't ever say that, Ren. We'll always remember what we had." I promised.

"I love you, Oliver." she said, bursting into tears.

"I love you too, Ren." I murmured, holding her as she cried.
