CHAPTER TWO.

The pain subsided as quickly as it began.

Suzanne quickly spun around. Sure enough, there wasn't anything behind her. Glancing at her stomach, she realized that there was no visible sign that the Mirror Demon had been clawing at her stomach.

Victoria was kneeling beside Suzanne, her hand on Suzanne's shoulder. Victoria had a concerned look on her face. She probably thought Suzanne was crazy or something.

'I-I don't know what happened,' Suzanne stammered. 'I felt a terrible pain in my stomach.'

Victoria, still seemingly in shock, nodded absently. Then, she let out a small breath and stood up.

'Well, now that your moment of terror is over, we have to discuss party plans,' she said.

Suzanne felt herself getting nervous. 'P-Party?'

'Yep,' Victoria said. 'According to some frat guys I met, every year, the extremely popular sorority, Kappa Gamma Delta, hosts the awesome-est party ever. It's the only way for someone to get popular around here.'

'Well, I guess it would be awesome to gain some popularity around here,' Suzanne said. 'So...what should we wear?'

She ran to her half of the closet and pulled out a plain, dark green, close-fitting, strapless party dress that was a few inches above her knees.

'Wow! It would look great on you,' Victoria complimented.

'It's my favorite dress,' Suzanne admitted. 'What will you wear?'

'Well,' Victoria said. 'I can't choose between this silver dress or the red one...'

About two hours later, the girls were walking to the famous Sorority House, which was off-campus. Suzanne believed she looked fairly pretty, with her dark green dress and eye-shadow, and some pale pink lipstick. Victoria had ultimately chosen to wear the red dress, and looked great with her blood-red lipstick.

However, Suzanne thought to herself, my hair probably looks terrible.

She hadn't the chance to wash her brown-blond hair, and it was probably frizzy.

Suddenly, Suzanne realized how great it was to be stressing over her looks. She didn't have any worries about nightmares, Demons or possessions. She could now act like a normal eighteen year-old. But suddenly, her memories flashed back to what she had seen in her dorm room...the Demon behind her.

Maybe her nightmares were starting again. But the problem was, Suzanne wasn't sleeping when she had seen the Mirror Demon.

The girls arrived at the party, and Suzanne pushed the thought to the back of her head.

There were people on the lawns, some of them half-naked already, and music was blaring loudly from the house.

As soon as they arrived, two guys walked up to the girls.

One of them was tall, muscular and had a head full of curly, blond hair. His blue eyes seemed to shine. The other guy was shorter and less muscular. He had short-cut black hair and dark-brown eyes.

His nose was shaped weirdly and his head seemed a bit big for his body, Suzanne thought to herself. Suddenly, she felt bad for criticizing the poor guy.

'Victoria! You made it!' the curly-haired guy exclaimed. 'How great!'

'Hi, Brandon,' Victoria said with a smile.

Brandon cleared his throat dramatically. 'This is my roommate, Caleb.'

The boy next to him gave a faint smile.

'He's a geek,' Brandon whispered. 'I'm trying to make him cool.'

Douche-bag! Suzanne thought sarcastically.

Suddenly, Douche-bag (that's what Suzanne started thinking of him as), noticed her.

'And who is this lovely lady,' he asked dramatically.

'This is my roommate,' Victoria said. 'Her name's Suzanne.'

'Anyways, enough introductions!' Brandon a.k.a. Douche-bag said. 'Time to party!'

***

Two hours later, and Suzanne still wasn't having a good time. The frat house was full of gross, sweaty people stripping gradually and grinding on each other like their lives depended on it. She also noticed a roofie had been slipped into a girl's drink. Luckily, Suzanne managed to warn the girl before she drank the beverage.

The girl thanked her, went up to a guy, and threw the drink on him.

Suzanne caught the guy giving her a dirty look. She didn't care, though.

Suzanne finally came to the conclusion that she was just in a bad mood. Maybe she was missing her family. She had spoken to lots of persons who said they came to college in order to avoid their family. Suzanne certainly wasn't feeling that way.

She suddenly realized she needed to get out of this place. It was suffocating.

She clambered up the stairs, and went into a room. It was someone's bedroom, she realized. It was deserted. However, on the balcony of the room, she saw someone standing still. His back was facing Suzanne.

'Hello?' Suzanne asked cautiously. She started walking up to the guy. He looked sort of familiar...

She touched the guy's shoulder. He spun around to face Suzanne, making her jump.

Oh, it was the geeky guy. Douche-bag's roommate. What was his name again?

'Caleb!' Suzanne exclaimed, suddenly remembering his name. 'Hi.'

Caleb just stared at her, his eyes wide and staring into space.

'He wants you,' Caleb whispered.

'I'm sorry, what?' Suzanne asked in shock.

'He wants you,' Caleb repeated, his voice small and timid. 'And he's going to get you, no matter what.'
