7:30 P.M.

"Mia?" He asked, still standing in the exact same spot.

I felt as if my heart was about to jump out of my chest and I could feel the room heating up. Julie nudged me, and I looked over at her, wide-eyed. She had a big grin on her face. And it wasn't the happy grin either. It was the mischievous grin that I always hated. Someone save me.

I gulped, "Hey, Nath..."

I noticed everyone exchange glances at the both of us, making me feel uncomfortable. No, the boys can't know that he's the security guard Julie and I talked to them about!

"So, you two know each other then?" Max asked.

"Well, yeah, I-"

I cut Nathan off, "I think we should make more popcorn! Julie, come with me?" I asked, grabbing her by the wrist before she could even answer. Once in the kitchen, Julie snatched her wrist away from my grasp and held it.

"Mia, what the hell has gotten into you?!" She asked, a hint of amusement in her voice, "You're as red as a tomato..." She giggled.

I ignored her last statement. "Jules, I need to leave, I can't stay here." My heart was still pounding. Then, a thought popped into my mind, and I gave her a look. "Wait, did you know Max was friends with him?!"

She looked at me wide-eyed, "Wha- no, no! I swear, Max said he was inviting someone, but he didn't tell me who it was! Don't be mad, Mia! Please stay!" She panicked.

"It's okay. I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions... It's just that it's gotten to the point where I can't even be around him! I'm trying to forget about him, and you know that." I sighed.

"Aww, chick! Don't let that stop you though! Please stay?" She said, giving me her infamous puppy-dog eyes.

"Julie..." I trailed off.

"C'mon, please?"

"Ugh, fine!" I gave in. She won, yet again.

"Yay!" She squealed, jumping up and down. I laughed and shook my head.

"So are we going to make this popcorn or what?" I asked. She smiled and got the popcorn out of the cabinet, putting it in the microwave. Still nervous about going back into the living room, I sighed.

"What's wrong, Mi?" Julie asked as she watched the numbers decrease on the microwave.

"I'm just nervous..."
