The next morning, Liam wakes me with breakfast in bed. "Thank you, Handsome. It looks amazing."
"You're welcome, Love. How are you feeling?" Liam asks, sweetly.
"I feel much better, thanks to you."
He smiles. "Good." He leans in for a kiss.
While I start to eat my breakfast, Liam tells me. "Harry has already called several times this morning to check on you."
I frown. "I feel so bad, he received the brunt of my stress yesterday." My phone rings. I look at the screen. "It's the doctor." "Hello?" I answer.
"Hello Liz. I was just calling to apologize for yesterday. I was a bit rushed and didn't deliver the test results to you properly. I am very sorry."
"Thank you. I appreciate you calling, Doctor."
"Your friend really read me the riot act. He really cares about you." He says.
"Harry? Wait, Harry yelled?" I ask shocked. Harry is usually so mellow.
The doctor laughs. "Oh yes, he was quite upset with me."
I finish up with the doctor and hang up. I fill Liam in on the conversation.
"Well I did tell Harry that I'd like to give that so called doctor a piece of my mind. He told me not to worry about it, he'd take care of it."
I laugh. "Well, I guess he did."
I take a long shower to wash off the stress of yesterday. I finish getting ready then head downstairs. I find Liam standing at the kitchen counter with my iPad. "What are you looking at?" I ask as I get a cup of coffee.
Liam frowns. "Oh, just this." He turns the screen to face me.
Oh no. It's a story in the tabloid. Someone got a picture of Harry and I sitting on the bench yesterday. My head on his shoulder, his arm around me, as he kissed the top of my head. It has some ridiculous headline insinuating there is something between us. I shake my head. "What idiots."
I touch Liam's arm. "You know that Harry and I are just friends."
He walks towards the table. "I know that you see him as just a friend."
I sit down at the table next to Liam, with my coffee. "What does that mean?"
"Nothing." He shrugs it off.
"Liam?"
"I just have a feeling that Harry has a bit of a crush on you."
I tilt my head. "What?"
"I know he'd never act on it though. We're like brothers."
I smile. "Liam, that's silly. We're just friends."
Liam smiles. "You're probably right."
Just then my phone rings. I look up at Liam. "It's Harry."
He smiles. "You take that, I'm going to pop outside to make a call."
After my conversation with Harry, reassuring him that I'm alright, I look for Liam.
I see him outside. As I head out I realize he's still on the phone. "I know Mum, we have the doctor's appointment tomorrow so we should find out more. Yes, of course I want to have children with Liz. Honestly though, if that couldn't happen, I'd be completely happy with just me and Liz, for the rest of our lives."
I feel my breath catch, I turn around, heading back inside. I sit on the couch, absorbing what I just heard. I think about it, really think about it for a few moments. As badly as I want to have children, Liam's children, I'd really be alright if that couldn't happen. As long as I have Liam, I'm happy.
