A few minutes later the same woman tapped me on the shoulder and had a very sad look on her face. "Ms. Johnston, I have some bad news, Justin is going to be unconscious for a while. He is currently in a coma." I tried as hard as I could not to sob uncontrollably.
"C-can I see him, please?" I pleaded.
"Yes you can." She responded, she walked me to Justin's hospital room.
When I looked at Justin I couldn't even tell it was him. I walked closer to him and grabbed his right hand. His face had bruises and cuts all over it, it hurt me to see him like this. His left arm was in a sling and he had all of these tubes and wires in different places on his body. I began to sob. I squeezed his hand and then kissed it.
"I love you so much Justin. I'm here, baby, I'm right next to you. You're going to be okay, I promise I won't let anything else happen to you. I'm so sorry this happened I love you so much." The last words were barely there because I was crying so hard.
"Why did this have to happen to you? Why? It's not fair! I need to see those gorgeous brown eyes, I need that smile. Please, don't leave me. I need you, Justin, I need you." I was going mentally insane at this point. It couldn't be happening, I didn't believe that the love of my life was right here next to me badly injured and I wouldn't be able to talk to him for god knows how long.
Another nurse came back in to check on him and asked me, "He means a lot to you doesn't he?"
"Yes, he means everything to me and I wouldn't be able to control myself if anything else were to happen. Is there anything new that you know?" I asked, practically begging.
"No there is not, I'm sorry. But I'll tell you one thing, just to see him breath is a miracle. We thought he wasn't going to make it. But this young man is still on this earth for a reason. That reason is you." She warmly smiled.
I smiled back through the tears streaming down my face.
"He really almost didn't make it?" I asked concerned.
She hesitated to speak, "Yes. The paramedics thought he was gone at the scene. This is truly a miracle that he survived."
I cried even harder, I almost did lose him. But I couldn't be happier knowing that he was alive. I don't know what I would've done without him. What am I going to do without him now? I was going to stay there every night until he recovered.
Then I heard a light knock on the door. I looked up to see Pattie walking in and I let go of Justin's hand gently to go over to hug her. We hugged each other and cried.
"He's going to be okay. He's going to fight this, he's strong." I heard a mans voice come from the doorway, it was Scooter.
I pulled away from Pattie to hug Scooter. "Scooter, he almost didn't make it." I sobbed.
I pulled away from Scooter and he moved a chair close to Justin's bed and made me sit down.
"He's going to pull through, he's strong." Scooter said with his hand on my shoulder.
"What am I going to do in the mean time? I just want to hear his voice." I said shakily and gently grabbed Justin's hand.
"It should've been me, not him." I sobbed.
"Don't say that." Pattie said.
"I mean it, it should've been me in that car." I shook my head and tears ran down my face.
"He wouldn't want you to say that, Olivia. I don't either, this was a very tragic accident nobody could've changed it or tried to make it not happen. God does these things for a reason we don't understand why, but he knows." Pattie sat next to me and hugged me.
"I wish I could understand." I sighed heavily and ran my fingers through my hair.
"Ma'am, what are the restrictions on visitors for his condition?" Scooter asked the nurse.
"Only close family is allowed after eight, but before that any friends and any family members." She responded.
"Could his girlfriend stay the night here?" He asked.
She sighed and looked at me. "Yes, she can it would be too hard if she couldn't."
"Thank you." Scooter warmly smiled.
"Have you told the team yet?" Pattie asked Scooter.
"Yes, they will be by in the morning. They aren't allowed to come now anyways." He assured her.
"Pattie?" I asked.
"Yes, sweetheart?" She responded.
"Will you stay here with me tonight?" I asked.
"Yes, of course I will." She smiled and rubbed my back.

I woke up in a panic. I had horrible dream that Justin had gotten into a horrible car accident and he was in a coma.
But then I realized I was in a hospital room on a couch and looked over at Justin asleep in the hospital bed and Pattie asleep on the love seat across the room.
I began to cry because the nightmare had actually happened. I couldn't believe it was actually happening. I couldn't imagine life without him.
"What if he doesn't make it?" I thought to myself and I began to sob.
I didn't realize I was crying that loud until Pattie came over and sat in a chair next to me.
"Olivia." She sniffled.
I wiped the tears off of my face and looked up at her.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"He's going to be alright." She comforted me.
I sat up so she could sit next to me on the couch.
I was still crying "How do you know that for sure?"
"You just have to think positive and hope that god pulls through." A tear ran down her cheek.
"But what if he doesn't..and..and we lose hi-" I sobbed uncontrollably into her shoulder.
I hated thinking like this and Justin hated it when I did.
"He's going to be alright. He wouldn't leave you, he wouldn't leave me, he wouldn't leave any of us. He is going to pull through." She rubbed her hand up and down my back.
"Here, lay down on me. You need some rest." She said.
I laid my head in her lap and drifted off to sleep.
A few minutes later I heard her sobbing. My eyes shot open but I didn't say a word.
"Please, god don't take my son. He needs to be on this earth long enough to live his life. He's been so successful these past ten years please don't take that talent away from the world. Besides, we need him. He means everything to us, please. It's not his time to go." The last sentence was barely there, she began to sob again.
