Chapter Four The Birthday Party

It had been 3 days since I had my birthday and told my friends about Patches. Luckily it was school holidays so I could have my birthday party whenever I wanted too. I was having it tomorrow (friday) and my friends were staying the night. I had to get everything ready today before my 4 friends; Claire, Brooke, Olivia and Jade came over. I had planned my outfit for tomorrow, a white dress with red flowers on it with brown cowgirl boots and a red cowgirl hat with plaited pigtails and red ribbons. After all the theme for my party was CowGirls. I was so excited.
~11am FRIDAY~
Olivia was the first to arrive, she was wearing a blue dress with black boots and a black cowgirl hat. Then Claire arrived wearing blue jeans and a red and white checkered top with a brown cowgirl hat and boots. Finally Brooke and Jade came, Brooke was wearing a Green western top with blue jeans and brown boots with a black hat, and Jade was wearing a purple dress with a black cowgirl hat and black boots.
We had an amazing lunch of many delicious foods and drinks and an amazing horse cake! It was time for my friends to meet Patches. Dad drove us down on the four wheeler and trailer. Patches was in the arena in his blue halter. I grabbed a sugar cube and fed it to him as my friends scrambled over to meet him. 'Oh my goodness he is the most gorgeous pony I have ever seen!!' was what they all seemed to say. I couldnt help myself from smirking at all their comments. I tacked him up and let them all have a ride on him. Then I hopped on and showed them what I could do on him. He was perfect. I jumped 55cm and then untacked him and sponged him down while my friends helped get his food and stall ready. We put him away and went back up to the house and played party games until 5pm. Then we had dinner and watched a movie. And before we hit the hay we talked and talked and talked about what we were going to do tomorrow.
~7am Saturday morning~
We all woke up, got dressed, had breakfast and went down to the stables. All my friends had bought their horses. Claire had a 14.2hh strawberry roan, Brooke had a 14.1hh flaxen chestnut, Olivia had a 14.2hh Dapple grey with black stockings and Jade had a brown/bay appaloosa. We all tacked up and warmed up in the small arena. We stayed in the small arena doing a few small jumps and games like follow the leader until my parents came down. After that we went for a trek around the farm. When we got back some of the girls who got lessons here had arrived for my birthday show. I was still waiting for a few more friends to arrive; Sophie, Grace, Tracy, Alexi and Rosie to arrive. in total there were 13 of us. At around 8:30 everyone arrived and the show started at 9:30 so everyone had around an hour to get their horses and ponies ready.
