***Alexis POV***
I opened my eyes slowley and sleepily. Today was just another day I thought. Then I looked at my alarm clock and saw the writing 'March 27 2005' OMG It's my BIRTHDAY!! I thought. I tip-toed down the hall to my mother and fathers room careful not to wake them. I walked into my mum and dad's room and jumped ontop of them on thier bed while shouting "ITS MY BIRTHDAY!"

"Mmm this is so good thanks dad!" I said while munching down the last of my cream maple and strawberrie waffle. "Your very welcome lexis" My father replied. As my mum sat down she sighed while looking at dad and spoke what sounded like... "I wonder what's gonna happen now?" she asked while putting a peice of paper in the middle of the table. Luckily I got to it before dad even thunk of touching the paper. I unscrewed the folded paper and read what sounded like a clue. "A clue? A clue for what?" I asked "Why don't you read the clue?" my father answered. "Alright then. Ok so it says, What has four legs is brown and white and holds water? what do you mean holds water? What? the water trough?" "Well go have a look and if your not right then guess again." My mum said. "But there is HEAPS ofwater troughs around the farm!" "Its in one of the sheeps pens" father replied. "So it is a water trough." I said walking towards the door. There were only two sheep pens due to us having 50 sheep and 2 rams so there were 25 sheep in each paddock and 1 ram. I went to the first paddock and looked all over the trough. Nothing. I then looked at the next one and saw a bottle floating in the water. I grabbed it and saw the clue inside. It was so hard to get out that I just cut the bottle in half. "Whats red and white and stores a medium. Umm... mums paint shed?" I ran into my mums paint shed and looked everywhere. NOTHING. I re-read the clue and saw a few words at the end of the clue I missed. 'Whats red and white and holds a medium sized animal.' "The calf shed!!!!" I felt so stupid once I realised what I had miss read and immediatly ran up the hill towrds it. I saw the calfs running around like usual but I still couldnt see any clue. Mary my favourite calf got up from sleeping and I saw something around her neak, luckily she was going to have a drink of milk from the trough and I climbed the fence taking my chance and slowley knelt over by her. I petted her to reasure her I ment no harm and then I untied the ribbon. Hopefully this was the last clue and I would find what I was looking for.
I followed the trail up to the tractors and sat on one to read my clue. 'Whats New and Blue and stores a few Shoes.' is what the clue read. "Mums shoe closet?" I wondered outloud as my mother and father appeared up the hill. Then my father laughed and said "How about Whats New and Blue and smells like Poo" I laughed and realised the shoes were horse shoes and riding boots and gasped. "The new stable, Ofcourse! How could I be so stupid!" I ran down the hill and up the race towards the horse paddoks. Right in the middle stood the enormous Brand New baby blue and white stable. I sprinted towards it and stopped at the entrance only to stare up at the mighty thing. It was one story with an attick. The attick stored Hay, ciledge and spare tack, and the floor story was all stables and a tack room. I walked inside and saw footprints on the ground, I followed them. They led me to the tack room, it smelt so fresh and new, like brand new wood. Then I saw a sight my eyes could never get rid of, Brand New Blue Tack! "Omg u have really outdone it this time" I managed to say under my gasps to my mum and dad when they walked in. I ran up to them and hugged both of them extra tight for about a minute. They laughed "your welcome hun, happy birthday!" as I went over to my new tack and riding gear. I had a new blue saddle, blue and black soft reins, light blue daimonte halter, black and blue leadrope, new zip up riding boots, blue black chaps, baby blue jods with grippy black bottoms, a white blue polo t-shirt, a blue black dublin helmet, a black dressage whip, a blue squishy handled whip, a new grooming kit with my name in diamonties on the brushes, a baby blue winter cover (for a horse) with white zebra stripes, a light blue ear cover thing, light blue leg wraps and a blue saddle blanket with black lining. I hugged my saddle and whipped on my new riding gear.
"mum dad can I test out my new tack on rifle?" I asked. Rifle was a pure black freisian with exotic blue eyes, blue eyed fresians are so rare but I ride/own one! "yeah ofcourse but maybe after u follow those footprints over there" my mum pointed to some more footprints, MORE presents? I thought I had got enough from what I just got! after all i was only turning 7!
I followed the paper footprints into another room of stables, Helium balloons were tied to one of the stalls as well as a big banner saying 'Happy Birthday Lexis' I was so happy, I realised how spoiled I was and immediatly ran towards the stall in tears, The gift must have been pretty large for them to put it in a horse stall! I opened the stall window and tried to look in the stall but it was blocked with birthday wrapping paper. I scratched through the rapping paper and My eyes almost fell out at the sight.
He was a 3 year old unbroken gelding who was gorgeous. I felt like the luckiest person alive! He was super friendly and nickered a hello. A paint he was, but not any normal paint, A DUN paint, with gorgeous saphire blue eyes with bursts of crystal blue and black dots scattered here and there. He stood up and walked over to me. I held my hand out for him to sniff but instead he just nuged it and put his head against my shoulder. He loved to cuddle. He had a two tone mane with black roots and cream tips, he was stunning. His eyes glowed bright as I greeted him with his new name as if he was expecting me to call him that, "Why hello patches" I said. "You like your name boy? We are going to have the most amazing adventures, You and I, Oh yes we will."
