Chapter 49: fall of galahad

Lawrence stood in the silver archfiend sentinel. Yuki held Amaterasu tightly and prepared to attack. "Holy halberd art: Raphael's talon!" Yuki gained golden armor once again and started to attack Lawrence, Lawrence's massive archfiend sentinel was unfazed by her assault. "You'll need more than bluster to tear me down girl!" Lawrence swatted her away with a silver arm and his black markings started to flow around the silver archfiend sentinel. Yuki skidded back from his blow, "no good, it's as large as the colossus unit!" Coco aimed Hanagami to the sky, "i'm on it! Holy longbow art: eden's garden!" Coco fired six streams of green light to empower everyone, including herself, " now it's my turn! Artemis thorn!" She fired three arrows with streams of green light flowing from the back of the arrows, however it proved useless as Lawrence blocked them with his massive sword, "was that supposed to be an art? All your attempts are fruitless inheritors." Galahad also joined the fray by firing multiple energy bullets from his turrets at them. Lance desperately tried to dodge both Lawrence and Galahad, "we've got company everyone! What's even worse is that we're like ants to him!" Rusty jumped back, "well this ant is about to bite his ass in a few seconds!" "You may want to rephrase that Rusty!" Lance replied. Hideki jumped from everywhere and followed Lawrence's movements, "nothing ventured nothing gained." Hideki kept attacking yet he kept his evasive and swift movements, Lawrence swung his massive sword forward, "you dare attempt to make a mockery of me?!" Hideki landed on his sword and aimed umigami, "you have written your own grave, the worm shall turn today. Holy tomahawk art: absolute zero!" Hideki launched a frozen spiked ball and froze nearly half of Lawrence's body, he landed back on the ground, "everyone stand your guard!" Lawrence soon broke away from his frozen state after a few minutes, "i'm impressed you've done that much to my sentinel, but you'll still need a lot more than that worm!" Lawrence swung forward, leaving Hideki to fight defensively. Kotoha looked towards Lawrence, "I won't let him hurt anyone! I'll become strong just watch me!" Her hair turned bluish white color once again, and she started to attack Lawrence with vicious speed and power. Lawrence desperately blocked her onslaught, "the inheritors unlocked those arts already?" Kotoha prepared his final strike as blue flames surrounded her right leg, attempting to give him a devastating fiery kick, "holy diadem art: godspeed strike!" Lawrence however moved aside and his marks reached his silver arm, the archfiend sentinel prepared a counterattack, "you have not mastered your weapon yet child" he fired a dark blast and sent Kotoha straight down. Yuki managed to catch Kotoha in time, "are you ok?" "I can keep going...." Kotoha said. Lawrence pointed to his black marks, "you inheritors have multiple things to learn. When will you realize some attempts are fruitless? You see them, these marks are the highest authority, the same marks that have been bared by Regnas himself, I am the descendant of him. You six inheritors are all Cecilia has left. While i'm the only thing Regnas can count upon. My people yearn for my guidance. The archfiend sentinel Excalibur, the sword that can alight our future in the name of Regnas." Yuki stood up with Amaterasu, "your people are happy with destroying us?! Its even more sickening that you use our people against us for your archfiend sentinel project! now you can't just cause a tragedy and say Regnas told you too! You could mourn for his loss all you want but do you think putting them into war repeatedly won't solve anything! You should be ashamed Lawrence!" "Enough." Lawrence raised his sword up and ordered Excalibur sentinel to gather energy from it's marks, "me nor my archfiend sentinel will take anymore contradiction from you!" Yuki raised Amaterasu and used cosmic blade, turning Amaterasu into it's more elegant and stronger form, "Don't take me lightly!" She ran forward and light appeared on the axe blade of Amaterasu. "Deus..." Lawrence mumbled as Yuki ran closer. "Ex..." Lawrence ordered Excalibur to raise it's sword against her. "You can't take anyone away!" Yuki shouted, she slashed downward with Amaterasu leaving a massive cosmic wave of light to appear from her halberd. "Machina." Excalibur plunged it's sword down to make a black shockwave, it's power was so immense compared to Yuki's art that it caused a short explosion, leaving all of Fort Valkyrie damaged. Fort Valkyrie teetered from gorgon's pass as if it was about to fall off. Everyone could barely stand up. Rusty could feel the damage Fort Valkyrie was taking, "anyone else feel this place tipping?" Lawrence looked around to see the damages from the fight, "this clash may have disabled the fort entirely, you shall pay for that." Yuki was covered in wounds as she stood up, " I can hear you....Joshua...I can feel your presence....please answer me......Joshua!"  Galahad opened up slowly and showed a distressed Joshua inside, "inheritor! I've been...restrained...i can't...." Yuki stared at Joshua, "you can....Joshua break free!" The hatch closed in Galahad, leaving Joshua to think, "this human...she cares for him..." Excalibur landed his sword besides Yuki, "don't attempt it. He's my soldier. He is someone who will fight for me. I shall end your journey here shizuku!" All of a sudden Galahad fired multiple blasts from his turrets, his blue marks started to turn silver and his marks became the same as to Excalibur's. Lawrence ordered Excalibur to gather more energy from the black marks, "same marks!...enough of this! I shall bring you back in chains Galahad. And then I will obliterate Shizuku!" Galahad charged a silver blast with his two turrets, his voice started to distort a little, "I am in no chains....i've taught you all to be free no?" Lawrence stood curious for a moment, "that voice, those words....Regnas? No impossible! You dare mock our god's words you heretic!" Yuki used cosmic blade once again, "Joshua's no heretic. But i will end you today! LAWRENCE!" They all clashed their strongest attacks to each other. Hideki stood up faintly, "YUKI STOP!" It was too late, all their attacks met. It was too much for Fort Valkyrie to handle. There was silence, a massive white and black explosion enveloped the fortress, causing everyone to fall from the sky into the ocean below. Excalibur levitated in the skies above gorgon's pass with Lawrence inside him and looked at the remains of Fort Valkyrie, "there's nothing left, my anger got the best of me...it's time I research an alternate strategy." Excalibur left to a spiral tower in the Center of Arcania. Maxis witnessed the entire explosion from the outpost, "mama mia...it seems we are at a disadvantage, the enemy and the inheritors were strong to cause an uproar like that." He pointed to a soldier and walked away from Gorgon's pass, "you there! Have my understudy take over for now. It seems this is more than a war now." Yuki woke up falling into the ocean below the floating islands of Serenia and Arcania, she saw no one else other than Joshua, Galahad was being ripped apart as he was falling. Yuki reached her arm out and embraced Joshua as they fell. In a faint glimpse, Yuki saw land...finally there was darkness...Nobody knows what became of the inheritors after that...
