                NATE AND BRYCE
Nate, Bryce, Carson, and Lexi continue to be best friends throughout high school. They lost one member of the group, but replaced him with another, Blair. The boys like her and she is soon welcomed into their little circle. In fact, Nate likes her so much that he and Blair start dating at the end of their junior year. Nate is varsity football runningback, and he plays basketball. Bryce sticks with varsity baseball.

SYD AND MRS. FLETCHER
Syd served his sentence at a juvenile detention center and never returned home. We assume he fell in with a bad crowd, and took up living with one of them. Mrs. Fletcher saw Lexi around town and continued to be cold and cruel, even making jests about her arm.
When she figured out that Syd wasn't coming home, she was heartbroken and moved to Bermuda, never seen again.

                     LITTLE BEAR
Little Bear lived with the Nahorms for 3 more years, when Lexi's grandmother moves in. She is allergic  to dogs, so the Nahorms are forced to tearfully give Bear away.

             SANDRA BEARNES
Sandra, while in 11th grade, moves to Florida, and Lexi is relieved to be rid of competition for her quarterback, Carson. After Sandra leaves, her clique falls apart and Lexi surges unawares to popularity. Sandra is replaced by Vanessa Harping, and Vanessa becomes Lexi's nemesis even more than Sandra ever was. The only reason Lexi doesn't see her as a threat to Carson, is because he shuts Vanessa's moves on him down very quickly.

                 BOSS AND SMALLS
Boss serves in prison for the rest of his life, and when Smalls is let out 35 years later, he repents and re-connects with his daughter.

BLAIR HUNTSMEN
Blair and Lexi grew close in the first few weeks they knew each other, and even closer as the years went on. Lexi eventually tells her the horror that happened the summer after 9th grade, and Blair keeps her secret. Blair is also incredibly sympathetic and supportive when Lexi goes through a heart-wrenching time. Blair went from being a pretty 15 year old to a stunning young woman, attracting the attention of much of the baseball, basketball, and football players, but not the quarterback. Blair and Lexi continue to love Kaitlyn Kutch, and even see her in concert, meeting her after at the meet and greet! Blair is very loyal to her boyfriend, Nate, and loves him dearly.

NOIR LINSTON
Noir stays in California, and he and Lexi don't see each other in person. They text and call every single day, and a deep friendship is bonded, even through their distance. He is another person she turns to during the difficult period of her life. He invites her to visit him every summer, but it doesn't work out until her senior year.

CARSON TRAYCO
Carson is 'Mr. Handsome.' He was always good-looking, but he becomes deadly at full maturity. Carson remains on varsity football, not branching out into other sports. He becomes varsity quarterback in 11th grade, and leads the team to 2 undefeated seasons! Carson stays deeply in love with Lexi, but respects her desire to stay 'just friends.' He is constantly supportive, especially when Lexi goes through a difficult time. He watches brokenly when other guys flirt with her and she flirts back. Carson doesn't realize that she's already promised her heart to him though, and nothing serious ever comes of the fun flirtation. He takes her to junior and senior prom, and falls in love with her more every day.

ALEXIA NAHORM
Lexi grows up beautifully, turning into quite a stunner! Her hair stays red, it doesn't fade to auburn, but it's not an unpleasant red. It's a very lovely, Lindsay Lohan red. Lexi grows one more inch, staying at 5 feet 6 inches. She's happy with that, she's not short but not at all tall. Carson towers over her, at 6 feet. She doesn't get her arm amputated, but it remains useless, only able to bend at the elbow. She is completely unable to move her fingers at all. When Sandra Bearnes leaves, Lexi is thrust into popularity, though believes it's only because she's best friends with the star quarterback and Blair, who is immensely popular.
Lexi's world is shattered when early her junior year, her mother is diagnosed with lung cancer and passes away, leaving Lexi and her father and Little Bear to fend for themselves. Mr. Nahorm's mother, Lexi's grandmother, moves in to help them out, and Lexi is again saddened by giving Little Bear away.
She stays close with Carson, and does eventually accept his request to date him in late spring, her senior year.
They're the cute couple on campus, clearly in love.

But that is put into jeopardy when she goes and sees Noir in California.
