A Summer to Remember

Hanna's pov:

"Hey dad!" I shouted as I ran in the front door.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed his cheek.

"We'll you're in a good mood!" He laughed and kissed my forehead.

I sat on his lap and bounced up and down.

"What's gotten into you?" He asked me. His smile was almost as big as I've ever seen it.

My mom chimed in, "Her and Carter are a couple now." She winked at me.

My dad rose an eyebrow.

"Is that so?" He asked me in a sarcastic like tone.

"We'll kind of... But that's not the point!" I started bouncing again my boney butt on my dads lap.

Me and him are about the same size so I was probably crushing his legs.

"So then what's up?" He asked me.

"I'm not pregnant!" I cheered.

My dads smile grew even bigger! I didn't know that was even possible.

"That's great!" He cheered and hugged me tight. So tight that he was basically suffocating me.

"No more sex till you're 20." He said seriously. His face was so emotionless. Like he was actually serious.

I started laughing and slapping my knees like a retarded seal.

He didn't laugh along.

"Oh you were serious?"

He nodded.

Awk.

"Okay fine." I crossed my arms.

All the sudden there was a knock on the door.

My mom walked over to the door and opened it.

There stood the one boy I love most.

Carter.

I ran over and pulled him to the side.

"What are you doing here?" I asked him, confused why he is here.

"I'm actually here for your dad." He pushed me aside and walked towards my dad.

Carter has always been close to my dad and gets kinda scared because my dad isn't scared to "yell" at him.

"Justin, I... I'm in love with your daughter. And I want to know if it's okay if I.. You know.. Ask her to be my girlfriend." He whispered the last part so I couldn't hear him.

I stood there, not knowing what to do.

What are they talking about?

My dad nodded yes and carter turned to me.

His smile was different than usual.

"What's going on?" I asked.

Carter got so close that the tips of our noses were touching.

I didn't say anything.

He bit his lip and came even closer.

Our lips met and it felt like everything around us just stopped.

It felt like it was my first kiss.

Magical.

He pulled away and squeezed my hand.

"Hanna. I love you. I love you a lot." He did a cute side smile.

"And I love you more than a friend." He stopped and chuckled to himself.

Not in a funny way but in a nervous way.

"Hanna, will you be my girlfriend? I promise I'll treat you right."

I have to admit. I do like him. And he is cute. I know he'll treat me right. We've been best friends forever.

"Hanna?" He asked.

Oops I spaced out.

"Yes! Yes I will!" I leaned in and hugged him.

He's so strong.

"I love you too." I whispered in his ear.

"AW!" My mom shrieked.

I pulled away from carter and looked over to my mom.

She was standing up by my dad holding a camera.

"MOM!"
