Part 1 Chapter 2
Griffin came back the next day for coffee, she was serving again. Her hair was curly and wild and it suited her so well, her face was soft and round. He thought she was great, she didn't really think anything of him at all.
He came back on Wednesday anyway.
That night he and Raven had Vegetable Canneloni and it was single handily one of the worst things he had ever put in his mouth. At first he thought it was his cooking, but Raven liked it (and he could tell when she was lying) so it must just have been his taste buds.
"How has this week's coffee places been." Raven asked before shoving another forkful into her mouth, her short legs swinging under the table.
"I've only been to one place this week." He said casually,
"But it's Wednesday! You should have three by now." She asked, almost sounding appalled. Raven loved hearing about the little coffee shops, there was always something peculiar to tell about each and every one of the shops. "Why only one?"
Griffin shoved another bite into his mouth to avoid answering, gagging a little at the taste.
"Griffin." Raven said with narrowed eyes and a low voice. He sighed, she was exactly like Emma Black, the mother Raven never really knew.
"There's just this girl there..." he muttered looking down at his plate, Raven perked again.
"Really!? What's she like?"
"Well I don't really know." He said sheepishly,
"Why not." Raven demanded and Griffin had to work hard to hide his smile at how cute she looked.
"Well, I've never actually spoken to her apart from my order." Raven sent him a look, "No, don't look at me like that, I don't want to talk to her, I don't want a girlfriend."
"You don't need a girlfriend, you need a wife." She sighed dramatically while flopping against the table, all Griffin could think was; what are they teaching 8 year olds in school these days?
"Why?"
"Because that's how all the Disney movies work, have you seen The Little Mermaid?!"

On Thursday he went back to Bean There. She smiled at him and he was so distracted by it he didn't smile back, she seemed disheartened by it. But there was progress, it was the first time she had been wearing her name badge. It said Emily.
Emily suited her, Griffin decided.
Griffin spent a large majority of the day in the office rolling his eyes at some of the stupid fucking emails people sent him. He went out for his lunch break, Jayden insisted on following him to lunch with his three bar hopping buddies. Griffin left early when they wouldn't stop cat-calling the waitresses.
After lunch Amanda came around, a pretty blonde from the floor above who had a file for Jayden and a crush on Griffin. Jayden was not amused by her lack of response at his flirts while she was focusing her attention on an unresponsive Griffin. Griffin knew he was an asshole, if he was in the mood to act like one he would.
"Don't bother with him, Mandy." Jayden said (discretion was not his strong point), and sweet, innocent Amanda looked to him curiously, "He won't have time for you, he's got a kid."
Griffin had the insane urge to bang his head against his desk.
This is how long most of the chapters will be, just a little warning.
