12 months earlier:

Tara:

My mother's shrill voice attacked my ears as I stood about to descend down the stairs. I cringed at the whiny tone which made me consider murdering her so I could have some peace.

"Coming mom", I shouted back.

I could hear her sigh before her voice carried back up the stairs. "No need to yell sweetie." Huh, speak for yourself woman.

I jumped down the last few steps and followed the smell of bacon to the kitchen, my eyes lighting up in delight as I spotted the plate for me at the table. I was just about to take my seat when I was nudged and fell to the floor.

"Snooze you lose squirt"

I looked up to see my brother Derek smirking down at me. Asshole. My brother and I had a good relationship for the most part, but the majority of the time he was annoying as hell and I couldn't stand him. "Mom", I wailed, standing to my feet.

"I need to leave for school soon"

My mom slammed the fork on the counter and Derek shot from the chair. I smiled in satisfaction, taking back what was rightfully mine. I got feel Derek's glare on the side of my head but decided to ignore him and enjoy my breakfast without causing a domestic. I sighed as Casey, my brothers best friend strolled into the kitchen; shirtless.

"Don't you ever go home", I moaned.

"Why?" He smirked. "Is this too much for you to handle", he said, motioning down to his half naked body.

I set my piercing glaze right on him, any plans of avoiding a domestic were completely out the window. "As a matter of fact it is", I said, while his eyebrows raised in confusion.

"I want to keep my breakfast down so if you could please go put on a shirt so I can refrain from vomiting that would be appreciated", I said smiling sweetly.

I could hear Derek's laughter coming from beside me but I kept focus on Casey's face that was dropping by the second.

"Are you a lesbian?"

Derek's laughter filled the kitchen and the sound rattled against my ears, I think I even heard mom's in there too. Throwing down my fork I raised my hands in surrender and told them I was going to get ready. I was halfway through the hall when I turned back and saw Casey smirking at me from the doorframe.

"Actually I'm not a lesbian, just don't wanna catch an STD, I don't know where you've been", I said, nose wrinkled in digust.

Casey's smirk fell, and all over again the kitchen was filled with laughter. I win.

Back in my room I noticed my phone beeping, signaling I had a message. Picking it up, I frowned as I realized the ID was unknown. Opening the text my heart faltered as I scanned my eyes over the words.

You tell him darling, he won't be messing with you again. But maybe I should get rid of him permanently, just in case.

My walk to school was quiet, but then again the whole world could be ending and I wouldn't know about it, I was too wrapped up in that message. What did it mean? After reading it, I had marched downstairs and asked Derek was he playing a joke on me. He said he wasn't and well I believed him, he was my brother after all I knew when he was lying. I left the subject, before he started asking too many questions.

I didn't want to say anything. Not yet.

A breeze of cold air ran down mg arms, and I rubbed my hands on each arm, trying to give them another source of heat besides the wool cardigan I was wearing. A chill ran down my spine and I knew in an instant, it wasn't from the cold. I spun around quickly but was met with nothing other then oncoming cars and the houses on the street.

I turned back, still feeling like I was being watched. I glanced over my shoulder a few times but I didn't see anything. I guess I was being too paranoid, I blame Megan for making me watch all those horror movies.

Curse you Megan.

Unknown:

I watched her from afar, I thought I had been spotted quite a few times but thankfully I went unnoticed. I just wanted to make sure that my princess got to school okay. If anything happened to her, I'd be left with no choice but to kill them.

I watched as her dark hair swayed side to side as she walked. So beautiful and innocent. I can't wait to have her for myself, of course she'll need to be broken in first, punished for every bad thing she does wrong. But my sweet Abigail is smart, she won't leave me down.

Not like the others.

And if she does happen to leave me down, then I will have to kill her. If she can't live by my rules, then she can't live at all.
