Tara:

I rush up the stairs, stopping as I realize my phone is in a room infested with spiders. Turning back I run down the stairs and grab the house phone. Dialing Derek's number I silently pray that he will answer. Instead it goes to voicemail and I let out a strangled cry. Dialing Casey's number, I feel nerves bubble up inside me as I wait for him to answer. I was about to give up when I hear his husky voice through the phone.

"Hello?"

"Casey? Where are you? Are you with Derek?" I cry out.

"Yeah, I'm with him. Were driving back to yours. Are you okay?" He asks, sounding worried.

"Listen", I say rushed. "Get out of the car you hear me? Stop right now and get out of the fucking c-"

I stop speaking as I hear a loud crash, like metal hitting metal, and then banging as if a car is rolling over. It's silent for a minute before I hear the screeching of tires and people screaming.

"Casey?" I sob. "Casey answer me!"

I hear a woman's voice, calling in to Derek and Casey, asking them to hold on. I hear her panicked voice as she speaks on the phone, calling an ambulance. She gives her location and I throw down the phone. They crashed only a few minutes away from my house. I tore open the front door and started to sprint down my driveway. I saw Megan,Kirsty and Matt approaching my house and they broke into a run as they saw me running the opposite way.

"Tara, whats going on?"

"No time", I called back.

I ran until I thought my lungs would explode but I kept going. I tore around a corner and nearly stopped at the sight of a toppled vehicle but I knew I couldn't give up now. "Derek, Casey", I cried.

I heard the others panting behind me and gasps coming from them as they saw the car. There was people crowded around the car, trying to get Derek and Casey out. "Ring my parents", I shouted out to Megan.

I stopped running and started to push people out the way until I reached the front of the car. The front windshield was shattered and the front bonnet of the car was smashed up to nearly the engine. Derek's head lay, smashed through the driver's window and he was motionless.

"Derek", I sobbed.

I bent down to touch him but was pulled back by a strong, middle aged man. "No darling. You could do more damage then good"

I was about to protest but I closed my mouth instead, I knew he was right. I shrugged from his grip and ran to the other side of the car. I saw that Casey was awake, and a woman was trying to help him out. Pushing her aside I bent down and put my hand on Casey's cheek. "Oh god, you're alive", I said, relieved.

He let out a shaky laugh and cringed from the pain. "Glad to see you too sweetheart"

"I'm going to get you out", I said panicking.

"No I'm not leaving Derek", he said sternly.

I sighed and glanced at the woman beside me with pleading eyes. "Your friend will be okay, listen to your girlfriend", she said calmly.

I didn't bother correcting her on the fact that I wasn't Casey's girlfriend and instead smiled at her. Casey sighed but nodded his head nevertheless. I noticed he had a large cut on his forehead that was bound to scar. Myself and the woman pulled on one of Casey's arms and he wriggled out of the car with his legs. Once he was out I saw his arm was twisted at an awkward angle and gasped as I realized I had pulled him out by a broken arm. He screamed in pain, and I pulled his head to my chest, comforting him.

I asked the woman to keep an eye on him while I went round to the other side of the car. I heard Matt whispering to a man about a fire and my head snapped to the front of the car. Fire.

"Where the fuck is the ambulance and fire brigade?" I screamed, tears rolling down my face.

Hearing me scream, Megan and Kirsty ran and put their arms around my shoulders while Casey hobbled over in pain.

"People are coming home from work, traffic is bad", a man explained.

"We need to get Derek out of the car. Once the fire hits the engine its gonna blow", Matt said, panicked.

I looked at him in horror, while Casey made a dash for the car. "Casey. Get back right now", I screamed.

He ignored me and I shrugged from Megan's grip, dashig forward to help him. Matt came beside us, as well as two other men. Matt smashed the remaining glass with his fist and reached into the car, unbuckling Derek's seatbelt. My eyes flickered to the fire and I saw it edge closer to the engine.

"We need to move faster", I cried.

I heard engines in the distance and I gave a sigh of relief knowing help was on the way. "You need to get back Tara", matt said, trying to pull me away.

"No", I screamed. "I'm not leaving"

"Yes you are. And you", Matt said, turning to Casey. "You're hurt"

We tried to protest but we were pulled a way by Megan and Kirsty. Everyone started to back up while the men pulled Derek out the rest of the way. Matt and some guy held Derek up between them and started to walk towards us. I cried in relief, knowing my brother was safe and out of the car.

And then it blew.

Everyone was pushed back onto the road, I could barely hear the grunts of pain coming from people who had been flung back. I looked up fast enough to see Matt, Derek and the other man being flung forward, landing on their faces. I shook my head as it collided with the hard road and saw through blurry eyes that the ambulance had arrived. I blinked and saw Casey bending over me, trying to help me up. I couldn't hear a thing from the bang.

I slapped my ears with my hands and heard Kirsty scream, sitting up I saw her bending over Matt, who had a pool of blood around his head. I glanced next to her and saw Derek huddled in a fetal position. Jumping up, I shook on my feet but pushed it aside and ran to Matt and Derek.

"Matt, you are not leaving me. You understand?" Kirsty sobbed.

Matt laughed softly. "I wouldn't dream of it', he croaked. "I just need to close my eyes for a second"

"No, keep your eyes open", I begged.

Kirsty and I were pushed aside by paramedics as they attended to Matt and Derek. We stood up and Kirsty fell into my arms sobbing. We were interuppted by Megan, who had a look of worry across her face. I looked down and saw she was holding out her phone.

I glanced at the ID and saw it was unknown. Together we read the message.

Megan, tell Tara I'll see her soon.

I barely heard Kirsty gasp before everything went black.
