Tara:

It felt like my breath I had left my body as the bell went for lunch. In class I was safe, at least I thought I was, at lunch I would be out in the open and he could be watching me. I slowly started to trudge out of my classroom secretly hoping that if I walked slow enough I wouldn't make it to lunch. Unfortunately I don't have any luck.

"Tara!"

Turning I saw my other best friend Megan coming towards me, I watched her bright red hair bounce as she walked. I gave her a slight smile, still not in the mood to speak to anyone even though I knew I would have to explain. But when she came closer I knew she was already told, I mean the look of pure worry was hard to ignore.

"So, who do I gotta kill?" She asked, nostrils flaring.

I let out a laugh despite the situation. Trust Megan to make me laugh. I explained that no one was going to be killed and showed her the second message I had received.

"It said not to tell anyone", she said biting her lip.

"So?"

"Well, you told us didn't you?"

I felt tears brim in my eyes as my phone vibrated in my hand. Megan took hold of my arm and squeezed as if to reassure me. Taking a deep breath I looked at my phone and sure enough it was from an unknown ID. I opened the message with shaky hands and dropped the phone to the floor as a gasp escaped my lips. Megan shot me a worried look and bent down to retrieve the phone.

"Megan is smart, maybe too smart. I wondered if I should shut her up first, I mean someone has to die but it's up to you sweet angel who receives the honour. You have six hours. Which one of your loved ones will it be?"

Megan finished reading the message just as I burst into tears. This was insane, I wasn't even awake five hours and I was faced with an impossible situation.

"We're going to the police", Megan said firmly, dragging me down the corridor.

"What? Are you crazy", I screeched.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Matt and Kirsty running towards us. "What's up", Kirsty said panting.

Instead of answering Megan tossed her my phone and continued pulling me. Once we were outside, I wriggled out of Megan's grip and caught her arm. "Megan stop, sit down", I ordered.

Megan looked at me sternly but sighed defeated. Sitting on a bench we waited for Matt and Kirsty to join us before speaking. Finally they did, both looking as pale as each other. Kirsty flopped down on a bench completely gob smacked while Matt stayed standing seeming equally as confused.

"So what are you gonna do", Kirsty whispered.

I shrugged my shoulders and placed my head in my hands.

"She's not gonna do anything. No one is going to die, everything will be fine understood", Megan snapped, hands on hips.

We all nodded, it wasn't worth the effort to argue with her right now. My eyes widened in horror as Megan threw my phone on the floor and began to stomp on it.

"Megan", I screamed.

"What? Now there's no more contact between you and that creep"

I returned home completely drained after the days events. My mom was still at work and Derek was out, meaning I could have a bubble bath. Lovely. I sighed in bliss as I climbed the stairs to my bedroom. Pushing open the door I frowned as I noticed a package on my bed. Walking over my heart beat increased as I saw there was a note on top of the box. Picking it up I began to scan the words slowly.

Sweet Abigail,
Your time is almost up to choose a loved one to die. Now I understand this must be difficult for you so I'll cut you a deal.

1. I kill a loved one.
2. I harm two of your loved ones but they will live.

Now I know you will run to your friends for help which is why I've taking the liberty of locking you in your room until you decided. When you've come to a decision contact me using the phone in the box(I know you need a new one)

PS darling, you might want to open your bathroom door.

Speak soon my love.

I finished reading and ran to my bedroom door, he was right, it was locked. I started to bang and plead but it was no use. I was betting he new I had a phobia of being locked somewhere with no way out. Just to be safe I checked my window but that too was locked.

Reading the bit about my bathroom door had me curious, so I decided to wander over to inspect it. Once I opened the door however I wished I hadn't, thousands of spiders crawled out around my feet.

I screamed and sprang to the bed, tears streaming down my face. Spiders, my second biggest fear. I tried to take deep breaths to calm myself until I noticed them crawling up the side of my bed.

Lunging for the box I pulled out the phone and dialled the one number that was saved, his I'm guessing. It was picked up on the second ring and I waited for him to say something. Instead all I heard was heavy breathing.

"Let me out, please", I screamed.

Still silence. I quickly started going through my loved ones in y head , thinking who would be strong enough to fight back against an attacker. I glanced down and noticed spiders crawling up my legs.

"Derek and Casey", I sobbed. "I choose Derek and Casey"

The phone cut off and I threw it across the room, ugly sobs rising in my throat. I heard the click of a lock and I rushed to the door, no longer caring about the spiders. I need to get out.

I raced into the hallway but there was wasn't a soul in sight. I heard the front door slam downstairs and I ran down after the person and out into the garden.

No one.

I went back inside and kneeled against the wall for support, tears flowing freely down my face.

Derek and Casey. I need to warn them.
