Tara:
My eyes fluttered open and I snapped them closed immediately, being overcome by bright white lights.
"She's awake!" I heard my mom exclaim from beside me.
"Sweetheart?"
I swallowed deeply, my throat feeling raw, like I hadn't drunk any water in a long time. "Dad", I murmured.
"It's okay sweetheart, everything's going to be okay," he choked out.
I nodded my head slowly, trying to rack my brain on why I was in here. It hit me, and I sat up fast, my mother trying to push me back down. My eyes scanned the room and I saw Kirsty and Megan in beds beside me. "Where's Derek? And Casey? And Matt, oh god mom there was blood everywhere," I cried, tears streaming down my face.
They both looked down at the floor, doing anything they could to avoid answering my questions. "Mom, where's Derek?" I said slowly, trying not to cry even more than I already was.
"He's fine darling", my father said quietly.
I gave a sigh of relief before I realized I still had two more people on my list. "And Casey?"
"He's okay too", my mother spoke this time and it was clear in their voices that there was something they didn't want me to know.
"And Matt?" My voice sounded hopeful, but I knew by the look on my mothers face it was grim news.
"He's in a coma, Tara, it's too early to tell anything yet", My father patted me on the arm and my shoulders slumped.
"No, no, no he was awake! He was talking to Kirsty! I heard him speak he wasn't unconscious he was awake you have to be wrong you have to b-"
"He passed out after you collapsed."
I turned my head to see Kirsty sitting up in her bed. Tears began to stream down her face and I noticed the huge gash that went from her eyebrow to the tip of her nose.
"I'm so sorry Kirsty. Mom? Can you go ask the doctor if I can see Derek, and Casey?"
My mother nodded and she grabbed my fathers hand, both leaving the room. Flinging the covers off me, I limped to Kirstys bed and sat on the edge, grabbing her hand in mine.
"I'm going to tell my parents", I said, slowly.
"No, you can't", Kirsty screeched, eyes wide.
"But people nearly died, Matt could still die and it will be all my fault if he does", I explained.
"The only reason this happened is because we found out, can you imagine what this person will do if they found out you told anyone else?"
My shoulders slumped and tears threatened to spill. I didn't know what to do. I was trapped with this psycho who nearly killed three people that I love.
"Besides, no one would believe you", she muttered.
I looked up in surprise and she sighed, struggling to form words to explain. "After you passed out another message came through, saying that Megan was next. She freaked out and told the police. She went so crazy that she had to be sedated", tears streamed down her face as she told the story and I looked down guiltily.
"But the messages?"
"They were gone, I don't know how it happened but they weren't there. They thought we were crazy Tara", Kirstys voice was pained and I knew I wasn't getting out of this nightmare any time soon.
We were interrupted by my parents who were standing in the door frame, looking at us intently. "You're allowed to go see Derek now", they said slowly.
I nodded my head and squeezed Kirstys hand before standing up. My father helped me out of the room and I glanced over my shoulder too see Kirsty sobbing into my mothers arms.
