We had been walking for a while. Things had been quiet again. Now was my turn to break the silence. Onax looked like he had something heavy weighing in his mind.
"Onax, is something wrong?" I asked while we continued walking.
He hesitated before answering. "No. Its nothing."
"Now don't lie to me. I can tell something eating at you. Now spill it."
He took another long pause. He was starting to scare me again. What was he keeping from me?
"I was just thinking," he glanced back at me, almost as if he was pondering how to phrase his next words, "these demons, they aren't the only creatures out there." At hearing this, I began shaking. "There are another species of monsters. They are the half breed of these demons. Though they appear to be human, in the night, their eyes glow red. They also can transform at anytime they please. So, be prepared for anything."
"And you decided to keep this from me?!Wait a second, is that what my dad was? I mean, I think I would've noticed earlier if my dad was a demon that whole time."
"It's possible." He began to walk again without looking back at me. He seemed like he was still hiding something from me. I was too scared to ask about it though. I had already been scared out of my wits since the beginning. Now, I was even more scared. So, I just walked quietly.
Another long pause of silence tell across us. As a black sheet covered the blue sky, my feet began to ache. My shoes felt like they were filling with blood. I tripped over an over-grown vine and fell. I couldn't stand back up.
"Onax, can we please rest here. My feet are killing me. I don't think I can go on." I pleaded from the ground.
I heard him sigh. "There's a clearing about a block away, do you think you can make it?" He sounded just about as tired as me.
"My legs feel like jelly. I don't think I'm going anywhere."
"We can't just stay here. Its not safe." He picked me up off the ground and held me like a groom would hold his bride. "I guess I'm just going to have to carry you."
I looked up at him while we walked. This had been the closest I had been to Onax. His skin was clear. His features, almost perfect. He really wasn't that bad looking. In fact, he was pretty handsome. I'm glad he didn't realise I had been looking at him. I easily had been staring, admiring his looks, for a good three minutes while he carried me.
I heard a muffled sound. Crap! Did he just ask me something?! I hadn't been listening, but I saw him look down at me.
