Awaking

I push myself onto my elbows, groaning quietly at the pain that suddenly shot through my arms in response to this movement, though I couldn't tell wether they were bruised or cut. I tried to open my eyes, squinting at the bright strip lights directly above me. A strong antiseptic smell filled my nostrils causing a nauseous feeling to wash over me. A noise sounded as though it was coming from far in the distance was beeping in a steady rhythm, sounded amplified against the other still silence. I tried to look around the room, my eyesight still not adjusted to the bright lights, I saw that the walls consisted of mainly white. The dark shape of a man sitting over in a chair stood out against the whiteness of the room. The man wore casual cloths, so he couldn't have been a doctor or a nurse, and yet I didn't know who this man was and why he was visiting me?
"Shh... Lie back down, you need your rest." An unfamiliar voice told me, standing up from where he was sitting, he looked tall leaning over me.
" but" I tried to answer being interrupt by not only my throbbing head but the man leaning over me, continuing to speak. I decided to lie down like the man said, but it was still hard to fight to keep my usually hazel eyes open which felt red and sore.
"Hailey, I'm glad your ok, i don't know what I would have done without you." The British tone sounded again making me even more confused.
"I'm sorry, I don't know who you are? Who are you?" I asked the man. His face dropped immediately once I said that. He looked angered and also some pain filling up in his emerald green eyes that distracted the heck out of me.
"Hailey.... It's me Harry! Your....." He tried to finish his sentence but got cut off by the doctor that burst through the door with a smile on his face.
"Hailey! I'm glad your awake now because we need to have a little chat." He said while pushing the man that said he was named Harry out of the room. The man was fighting his way through. He looked awful like he hasn't slept in weeks.
"Ok! Now the first thing I need you to tell me is if you remember how you got here or have any memories of last night?" He questioned with concern with his eyes.
"No.... I actually can't remember anything except that I think I like to paint." I answer with pain.
"Hailey, you were in a car crash two weeks ago and got put into a coma for two weeks. When you crashed you hit your head. It got damaged severely which caused you to loose most of your memories. Your memories have a possible ability to return but the most you'll get is tiny little flashes of memories. And I'm sorry to say that your parents and your brother didn't make it through the accident alive. I'm so sorry."
I sat frozen without any words. I didn't exactly know what to say really. Instead I felt like my emotions took the best of me while my eyes quickly began to fill with tears. I didn't notice until the nurse came in and handed me a Kleenex box that I was absolutely sobbing my eyes out. I looked down at my tear stained shirt and pillow then glanced back up to thank her. The words came out more like a mumble of words since I couldn't pull myself together. Her eyes spoke with empathy. She nodded then closed the door to leave me in my thoughts. All I could think about was the man that called himself Harry. Right when I saw him I somehow felt like I do know him. Obviously he knew me so somehow I knew him. I want answers now and he was the only person who probably knows them.
