3rd Person POV

Natasha drove for about twenty minutes with Steve keeping close but not too close that he could be seen by Natasha. Tall buildings surrounded both of the Avengers. Natasha parked in a fairly quiet street with car passing by and people walking on the foot path.

Steve parked his motorbike diagonally opposite in a alley way so he couldn't be seen he hid himself behind the brick wall and peaked his head out to see Natasha.

She got out of the car and went to the boot of the car and opened it, she grabbed a small case and closed the boot. Natasha walked towards a tall abandoned building and entered it. Steve cautiously walked more like jogged to follow her.

Natasha walked up the staircase which had four levels, when she reached the top she opened a door which led her to the roof. She walked to the edge and knelt down on the ground, she placed the small case on the ground and opened it.

A disassembled sniper gun was inside, she assembled it quickly and got into a comfortable position, her target was a business man, she didn't ask or want more Intel, she just did the job and got paid.

Steve ran up the stairs quickly, checking down each hallway and each level for Natasha, but there was no sign of her anywhere. Natasha had her target insight and she pulled the trigger.

The business man fell to the ground instantly and people were screaming and running everywhere. Steve heard the shot and figured it came from up top, he ran up the stairs and pushed the roof door open quickly.

Natasha was disassembling the gun back into the case when she looked up, she saw the tall, muscular blond looking at her in utter disbelief, Natasha was shocked to see the soldier standing there.

They both stared at each other in shock and Steve was angry, she shot an innocent man for no reason. In her head she was trying to think of a lie, but she had none. Natasha grabbed the case and stood up, they just stood there looking at each other.

Steve shook his head in horror of what his friend just did. "Steve, I...I" Natasha stuttered, she couldn't find a reason to give that would help, "I had too, it was a job" Natasha tried to explain more, but failed.

"What happened to you Nat, now you're killing innocent people for what... So you can get back into being an assassin for hire?" He asked in confusion and anger.

Natasha looked to the ground, she wanted it swallow her up and escape everything, she didn't want to feel pain and sadness, she wanted to escape a world that lost all it's colour and beauty when her best friend died.
She wanted to become the non emotional, empty person she was before Clint found her and not feel all that rage and suffering. But the truth was she could never escape, she was locked up in a world of chaos and death and she couldn't escape.

"You don't understand anything Rogers, so why don't you just go and be the all american hero and leave me alone." She snarled, she walked past him quickly, but he grabbed her and and she looked at him in anger.

"I won't and you know why, because you're my friend and I don't want you to go down a path where you will regret it" he said in a caring voice, "Nat, you are not alone and we are here for you, just stop doing this" he continued to say.

Natasha looked at him and nodded her head slowly. Steve let go of her arm. "I did it because I needed the money" she said truthfully.

Steve looked at her confusingly, "why do you need money?", he asked. "For Intel about Clint's killer" she said. Sirens of police cars became louder and louder. Natasha and Steve it was best to leave.

Natasha went to her car and hoped in while Steve went to his motorbike and they were driving back to the avengers tower. They parked their vehicles in the avengers garage.

Steve hastily went over to Natasha and said "We are going for a drive" he said as he walked up to her, she looked at him in annoyance and confusion. "We just did, and I am tired" she lied, "we need to talk and I don't think you want the other's to know" he said, she was convinced. "Give me the keys" he said while holding out his hand.

"No, I am not trusting you to drive my car"she said. "Do you trust me with your life?"he asked. "Yeah I guess" she answered, "then you can trust me with your car" he said insistently. Natasha finally gave up her keys they got into the car.

"If we die, I will personally hold you responsible" Natasha said. Steve smiled. They zoomed out of the garage and into the wild city of New York. "By the way, where are we going?" She asked already bored with the little road trip they were taking.

"It's a surprise, and by the way with the conversation we had on the roof, what Intel?" He asked curiously. "Intel on the guy who shot Barton" she said simply. "How the hell are you going to find that out?" Steve asked.

"Ask around a few old sources that I know and dig up some info" she said while staring out into the bleak world. "Why?" He asked. "What do you mean?" She said in a confused tone, "why chase after a guy you will most likely never find?" He asked as he looked at her and she turned her head to look at him.

"Because he killed my best friend and now it's payback" she said, vengeance filled her eyes. "At what cost?, how many people are you willing to kill to get the guy?"he asked. "As many as it takes" she answered.

For the rest of the trip it was silent both, didn't look at each other not even once. The trip came to a end when Steve stopped the car and they both hoped out. "Why are we here?" Natasha asked obviously annoyed.

Cliff hanger, I know. But where are they? Guess in the comment section. I promise I will update ASAP.
