Allah SWT doesn't judge you on how bad you have been in the past but rather how good you strive to be now.

"Its your turn Ayaat" A sleep driven Zaroon says.
"No its yours! I got up the last time" I say irritated and sleepy.
"Fine" He gets up from the bed and goes towards the cot to make the babies stop crying.

"Why Allah! Why? When can I have my sleep again?" He mumbles.
"I heard that" I say from the bed.

He picks up Safa first and brings her to the bed and then Marwah.

"You take care of one, I'll take care of the other one" He says and softly pushes Marwah towards me.

I try to hush her and Zaroon hushes Safa.

It had been over three and a half months now and I hadn't got one night's proper sleep. Not one.
Not even the days I was staying with mum so she could help.

These babies kept quiet only when I held them close to me. It felt great before but suddenly it started to annoy, I couldn't eat, sleep or even go to the washroom.

They just cried cried and cried.

I'm not complaining, but a mother needs rest too.
And no matter how much help you get during these first 4 months it's never enough.

Safa soon fell asleep but Marwah was just lying there looking at the celing, staring at my face.

I was up anyway, I knew I wasn't gonna get any sleep and it was already 6:00 in the morning. So I took Marwah out to the balcony and just stood there waiting for the sun to rise.

It was suddenly bright, within minutes and Marwah smiled when she saw the birds flying across the sky.

Even though I had sleepless nights and days that one smile filled it up everyday.

I pat her chin and she laughs.

"You like that?" I ask the little Marwah who's eyes shone brighter than the starts.

I do it again and she laughs again.
I do it again and again until I was tired of it and she wasn't.

Strange!
What babies can find so facinating!

I had learnt so much during those days. I was beginning to love someone else more than me, more than Zaroon.

I was lost deep in the view of the sun rise when I realised marwah was already asleep in my arms.

I slowly take her to the bedroom and place her in the cot, the pick uo safa and place her next to marwah.

Alhamdulila I whispered to Allah!

He had blessed me with the greatest gifts in life.
Loving parents.
Wonderful husband.
And now two cute babies.

What more could I ask for?

Everything was so good. It was perfect!

Zaroon had a job and he was earning reasonably, I managed the kids and Gazala aunty took care of the house without interfering with what I did.

I didn't hate her or had grudges against her.

But it broke my heart when when I saw she wouldn't play with Safa amd marwah, she wasn't proud of them, she kept herself away from them only because she wanted a boy.

They deserved love!

The first few days it bothered me alot but after a while I got used to it and I realised not caring about something that was bothering made you so happy.

I saw the three of them sleep and a smile crawled on my face.

I lay down next to Zaroon for sometime and then when I still couldn't sleep I decide to utilise the time.
