“Once upon a time, when demons along with spirits and humans inhabited the Earth, a war begun!

The demons and the spirits had their differences, but, they had never thought of attacking each other, that was, until BigKing of the demon world, ascended to the throne. With the greed of being the best King that kingdom had ever had, he did the unthinkable and attacked the peaceful kingdom of spirits, hoping to be able to rule over it.

The spirits, with no other solution in sight, fought back and so, a one hundred year war begun, leaving the humans, known as the weakest race, to bear with the consequences. Yet, they couldn’t handle it, the animals were being killed, the waters polluted, the crops devastated…, all they could do was hope that, that war would end soon. That’s when a girl offered to help the spirits within the fight; she crossed mountains, lakes and deserts, storms and blizzards, until she finally reached their kingdom.

She presented herself immediately to the GreatKing and explained the motives that made her go all the way there, the King adverted her of the great danger that, that war was, however she did not mind and stayed. After awhile of training in the spirit kingdom, she met a young spirit and soon both of them grew found of each other; that’s when the magic happened. The girl and the young spirit established a link that was soon called Spiritual Link, a link in which the humans would borrow the spirits power by giving them energy in return and help them achieve their goals, in exchange the spirit would act as the human guardian. The Guardian Spirit was born and so, with the help of the humans, the spirits won the war.

The human girl, now holder of great powers divided the Earth in three different  worlds: The Human world, the Spirit world and the Demon world, in order to prevent a repetition of that meaningless war, or so she thought, at least for that time, because now, in the present era, the demons, are back to fight the so called Guardian Spirits and their humans, yet they are not alone, for they possess the key to travel through worlds bringing darkness to every human heart allowing them to create their own Devil Guardians.

A new war has begun, and this time the demons are much stronger than they were back then. Will they be able to fulfill their goal towards world domination, turning the world in chaos, or will the spirits once again win the war?

This is something, only the future knows.”

After Heart told me that story I was astonished and couldn’t believe in it. For what I could remember no one had ever told me demons, spirits and humans had lived on the same land, I didn’t even thought demons and spirits were real. I mean, I thought they were like ghosts, in other words, something people create within their heads, their minds. Yet, that was not the case. Besides all that, I wondered why I was in the middle of this and, if those demons were so strong then there’s no way someone like me could possibly win.

“Why me?” I asked Heart.

“Do you remember what happened when you met me?”

“I collapsed.”

“And…?”

“I woke up in your house….?” I answered not sure if that was the answer he really wanted.

“Haha. Not that, before. How did you feel before you collapsed?” he said with a radiant smile.

“Well, when I held your hand I felt an electric shock and then it was just like my energy had leftmy body, I felt really tired and I collapsed.” I tried to remember.

“That’s right. That was the moment we established a Spiritual Link.”

“But there’s something I don’t understand.” I started “What has my energy have to do with allof this?”

“Since I’m a spirit, coming to the human world for the first time takes a lot of energy and if Ihadn’t found a partner soon enough, I might had faded away.”

“Faded away?”

“In other words…. I would have died.”

“That’s horrible. But still, why me? Couldn’t it be anyone else?”

“That’s the point. Before you showed up, three more people had already done it, yet none were compatible with me. I had already loosened a tremendous amount of energy and, if youweren’t the one that time, I wouldn’t be here right now.” he explained looking at me.

“Then I’m glad I was there.” I exclaimed with a smile.

“Me too. So… will you help me?” he asked facing me with his face really close to mine.

“I’m already inside the matter, aren’t I? It would be stupid to back down now, right?” I said standing up avoiding being too close to his handsome face.

“I guess.” I heard him saying.

He was still sitting on the floor, when I turned to him, crouching down, holding out my hand and smiling.

“Come!”

He didn’t answer and just hold onto my hand, I was getting used to that, so I didn’t say anything and, just like that, holding each other’s hands, we stepped out of the rooftop, leaving nothing behind besides the wind, or so we thought, because lurking in the shadows was the thing which would start the beginning of our nightmare.
