Mia’s PoV

Currently I was hiding in a room quietly not to make any sound, outside were just too many demons running around in both confusion and stress, preparing themselves for the worst. I had already achieved getting on the second floor, seeing as I was in the third, but upon setting foot on it lady luck had turned its back on me and I had almost got caught by one of the demons running around, fortunately not all my luck had decided to stab me in the back and leave and so I had been able to get away and hide in the room I was right this instant. Taking a deep breath to regain my composure and sort out my thoughts I started to think of ways to get away from this place as soon as possible, though, there was something bugging me in the back of my head which made, reaching whoever was making a ruckus on the first floor top priority. One would think, getting away from a place that wants to harm you quickly, would be the most common thing to do, but I believed in Heart and so was quite sure, no, I was completely sure he was the one creating all that chaos, which meant, if I did run away, I would be running away from both my hunter and my savior. Besides not knowing how I would be able to pass all that demons and go straight to the first floor, I had another problem; the chains were a real bother since, while I had them around my wrists, I couldn’t use my powers which turned me into an inoffensive little lamb in a wolf’s den, once again I cursed at how smart the enemies actually were.

Feeling someone on the other side getting closer to the door leading to the room sheltering me at the moment, I backed away hiding next to a big and thick bookshelf, resting against the white wall, which gave a perfect blind spot to one looking at  it from that same door. As I hide further into my hiding spot I noticed a soft breeze caressing the little hairs in my bangs making them flutter along with it and while trying to locate the source of that mysterious wind I noticed a small, almost imperceptible, gap between the bookshelf and the wall.

“No way, a secret passage?” I softly whispered feeling lucky.

The next minute went by with me taking out every single book from that bookshelf, because let’s face it, that’s how it’s done in all those movies and stories, to try and figure out which one would grant me the ticket to that secret passage, however there was a slight chance it would only be opened with magic and if that were the case all my hope and luck, which wasn’t much since lady luck decided to switch sides, would completely vanish. When I finally reached the last book and pulled it out the outcome confirmed my suspicious as the bookshelf didn’t even budge, sighing I leaned against the desk next to the bookshelf and that was when my hands came across something. On top of the desk rested a very peculiar thick book that immediately caught my attention for it had no title or anything written at all, just a plain dark green cover, but when I lifted it to read its content I heard a click and the bookshelf in front of me started to move to its right side as a path opened up before my eyes.

“I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, I’ll go to it laughing.” I recited a quote written by famous writer and entered the barely illuminated passage after the unknown.

Heart’s PoV

I always had thought of Klaud as nothing more than muscles and raw power, however the outcome before Reyen and I made by believes crumble into nothing, he was actually smart, very smart. Advancing from the entrance to that point in the first floor had proven to be quite tiresome and by now Reyen and I were completely worn out, not to mention the fact he only had on arrow left which didn’t help the situation to look any better at all, of course Reyen was able to materialize more arrows but I doubted he was in condition to do so and Klaud was aware of it, that’s why he was smart, he had waited for the exact moment when we would be already tired and in low physical conditional to show up and strike, but I wouldn’t fall this soon, not when Mia was so close to me. Taking a deep breath, allowing me to relax and loosen my muscles, since being too stiff would only affect my speed, I took my sword out of its scabbard and pointing it in Klaud’s direction I taunted.
