The week passed by faster than expected and without realizing it, the day of the school trip was just a few hours ahead. Two nights and three days required a bigger luggage than usually since I was spending the night out of home; I was excited for it was the first time I was going on such a long school trip and this time, I had someone with who I could share the fun with. I grabbed Heart’s necklace unconsciously and could feel the warm entering my body, such a warm sensation made me smile for it was not the first time I had felt it nor it would be the last one either, at least that’s what I hoped for.

My peaceful thoughts were disturbed by a vision of the dark and fierce eyes of that scary man, just like I had saw a premonition of a terrible future, my heart ached and my body cringed in fear, I grabbed the necklace tighter, to the point of almost hurting my hands, until all my fears went away; I finished packing my stuff and laid down on my bed falling asleep right away.

I woke up to the sound of the alarm clock, I turned it off and let myself be in bed for a awhile; the birds sung their beautiful melodies and the sunrise was slowly bringing light to that lovely morning. I got up and opened my window to allow the little sun rays reach my room and slowly warm it up. Since I had to arrive earlier than usually, because of the school trip, silence ruled the house, besides the birds, not a single sound was heard and, despite not liking all that silence I did my best to make as less noise as possible to avoid waking  my mother up. I got ready in a flash and, as usual, left the house, but not before making sure I had everything I needed.

Once I arrived to school, the bus, which was going to take us, was already there and I walked towards the meeting point; for my surprise Amber and Jenny were already there as well and all over the floor were bags surrounding those two, it’s remarkable to say that those were the amount of bags someone would need when going out for a month, not just three days.

I let myself stay in a corner and didn’t even bother to greet them but I didn’t stay unnoticed for they started whispering something upon my arrival, however I didn’t mind, for me, someone who wasn’t courageous enough to say things right to my face, instead of talking bad behind my back, wasn’t worth my attention nor my time.

Little by little the other students started to turn up until the only one left was Heart. I got a bit worried for he had never turned up late to any class, but my concern soon was gone when I grasped Heart’s face in that crowd, I went to him to know what had happened and with a serious expression he answered.

“I overslept!”

Giggles and laughs were heard all over the place and I couldn’t help but do the same.

“Why is everyone laughing?” he asked with embarrassment.

“You just don’t say that with a serious expression just like the one you had.” I explained.

“Right!” I heard some girl said.

“I thought he was going to say something really serious.” one of the boys affirmed.

Heart stared at me while I kept laughing and just admitted.

“Well, if that makes you laugh, then I don’t mind.”

“Huh?” I babbled stopping laughing.

“You have a nice laugh!” he exclaimed with a sweet smile.

That sentence made me blush a little and I lowered my head to hide my embarrassment; the teacher started calling the students whilst they entered the bus one by one, leaving their luggage in the trunk. On the back of the bus, the five seats were taken by Amber and her companions, the next two rows on the left were taken by John, Rey, Jake and Judy that decided to join the boys, whilst on the right, the seats were taken by Jeremy, on the back and Heart and me on the front, Jeremy was left alone, until Caroline asked if she could sat beside him. The front of the bus was taken by the teacher, as usual, Melody, Nathaniel and Jack that looked as sleepy as ever, whilst the middle was occupied by the other students; after a few minutes the bus departed towards our destination.
