WHO'S READY FOR THINGS TO GO SOUTH QUICKLY?

Kaylee's POV

The next few week were...uncomfortable, to say the least. Dylan became my best friend, Carly wouldn't look or talk to me and when she did, it was through Noah. The only thing good about this was that the morning sickness had passed. Each morning, Dylan and I would walk for an hour or two and talk about anything. I found out that him and Noah have been best friends since they were toddlers, their mothers being very close before Noah's passed away. That he loved pasta and could eat unhealthy amounts of it. How every time he laughed, his dimples would appear, very slightly.

Not that I was looking that hard.

This morning wasn't so different. We left around five a.m. and began our journey to god knows where.

"So, Kaylee, I know that me and her aren't together, but I'm worried about Carly." He said while slowing down, knowing my legs were baby sized compared to his.

"Why?" I asked breathing hard. The fall air hit my lungs harder, making me shiver.

"She hasn't been herself. When was the last time she talked to you?" He pulled out a cigarette, a habit he promised he would quit once the baby was born, for his and the baby's sake.

I scratched my head. "I don't know. A month, I suppose. I guess she's still angry about me asking you to stay and other things." I sighed. It was making me stress out, but I tried to play it off.

He shook his head as he took a hit from the cigarette. "I don't think that's it. It's this look that she gives you, it's weird. It bugs me out." I laughed.

"If it makes you feel better, I'll asked her about it, okay? I shivered and mentally slapped myself for trying to look cute in the middle of fall. Dylan looked down at me.

"Are you okay, kid?" I usually felt weird when people called me kid, but with him, I allowed it.

I nodded. "Just a little cold."

He grunted, "Here." He shrugged off his coat and handed to me, "Do you want to go back home?"

I smiled at him, "And cut back on whatever crazy mess you'll think of today? Not a chance." He smiled back down at me.

"How about we go back home, take the car and get some breakfast. Is that okay?" I nodded fast as he chuckled.

It didn't take long to get back to the large house. Noah talked about how he was going to paint his room this week, something about making it look like space. We made it to the front door within fifteen minutes. "I'm going to change into a sweater, I'll be right back." He nodded as I popped my headphones in and ran upstairs to my room. Hopefully I had something dark to wear. As I walked into the room, I noticed that I didn't see Noah in the bed. Maybe he went to the gym or something like that. I fumbled around in closet for a few minutes before finding what I was looking for. "Hey Dylan, I'm going to see if Carly wants something." I called out to Dylan. He didn't respond. I shrugged, guessing he was in the bathroom. I walked down the steps to see Carly's door open. I walked right in without giving it a second thought. "Hey Carly, do you want some-" I stopped as I saw the scene before me.

"What. the. f*ck."

Dylan's POV

I had to talk to Carly. I knew whatever she was to was messing with Kaylee. She didn't need that stress. She tried to fake being okay, but I could tell from the bags from under her eyes that she hadn't been sleeping much, and from what I could tell, Her and Noah haven't been sexing it up as much.
