It was late afternoon, and all necessary work had been finished, so the nations were enjoying a rare moment when they could relax. Estonia had taken to practicing his singing at the piano with Latvia and Lithuania, while Belarus was shining her knife set. Even Russia had taken a break to catch up on his knitting with his big sister Ukraine. Prussia thought it seemed like a rather timid hobby for someone who kept a heavy pipe propped against his desk, but that was how Russia chose to spend his holiday.

Prussia was sitting on the floor watching television when Hungary sat on the couch behind him. She poked him with her boot and he looked up to see her gesture subtly to the door with her head. Taking the hint, he got up and walked out, followed by Hungary a moment later.

"How did it go with your boss?" she asked when they were alone.

"Not well. He won't listen. He doesn't want to reform."

"What do you mean he doesn't want to reform? It's what your people want!"

"He thinks I won't last without communist support." Prussia growled but he was scared. History had showed him that revolutions, no matter how well intended they may be, most often backfired.

"Then we'll just have to show him another way." Said Hungary pressing a thoughtful finger to her chin, "Isn't your birthday coming up?"

"The 40th anniversary of West's and my separation? Yes, it is." Prussia grumbled, not too pleased with the subject.

"Your bosses are planning a celebration, right?"

"Yeah. Even Russia and his boss are coming." Said Prussia, again not excited with the subject.

"Well, that sounds like a great time to show them how your people feel." Hungary hinted.

"Stage a protest."

"Exactly."

"You're a little too good at this, you know." Said Prussia looking at her warily, "But there are plenty of youth rebel groups, I'm sure at least one of them will show."

"Perfect." Said Hungary then she looked back in to the room where everyone was seated, "You better get back in there before they start to wonder."

"Good point."

He walked back in and Belarus eyed him suspiciously.

"What were you two talking about?" She asked.

"Well, I just got the results back." Said Prussia somberly, causing a few people to look up, "And it's official—I've been diagnosed with awesomeness!"

Unimpressed with this, Belarus rolled her eyes and went back to polishing her knives.

"Yeah, apparently there's no cure." Said Prussia flopping down on the couch, "I'll be this awesome forever!"

Before long the date approached and a storm was already brewing. The night before the actual celebration, demonstrators had already led a march passed the office of the head of state. The morning after state officials worked fast to clear the area for the military parade to be held there later that morning.

Despite the attempts to make this a happy event, with parades and street fairs, Prussia still frowned as he dressed up for this occasion. While this was made to look like it was celebrating him and his culture, it was really meant to promote this failing system of government and the leaders that forced it.

"Pozdravleniya, comrade GDR!" Said Russia as they met in the large event hall with their bosses.

"Danke." Said Prussia faking a smile as Russia smothered him with a hug.
