Sleep for you was restless, constantly awaking, and the temperature of the room keeping you from feeling comfortable. The freezing of the room being of something equal to the winter when it was a very nice spring weather with the occasional strong rains that you dealt with at the funeral even though then it had been dimmed down to a faint drizzle that left the air heavy and only so wet so those who were weak to cold rain used an umbrella.

This was not that feeling though. It was a freezing chill that was heavy and seemed almost to remind you of the corpse of your friend, his skin being frozen both in movement and feeling. His flesh pale and haunting in color, and touching his finger tips made the rest of your body freeze just like his body. Your breathing stopping until you shuddered. That's what the air felt like to you as you lied under the covers, not shuddering and only freezing. The feeling of the air making sleep impossible for the rest of the night.

When you did finally fall asleep the morning was heavy and a slow one. You sat up to feel the sun light land in your eyes as it slipped through the shades of the window near your bed. Causing your eyes to squint and blink in slight pain of the light change till you moved away from the light. Rubbing your eyes as you tried to remember what happened in the recent past. The night of rough sleep making memory hazey and painful. Once you finally got a hold of the memories of Kakashi being dead and his funeral with a sobbing Yamato on your shoulder and the casual talk of your deceased friend with his love you almost started crying.

You felt you would be stronger then this when you lost a friend. Though with the unfulfilled closure of knowing who killed Kakashi, Yamato's tears, and the sleepless night made you curl up in bed again to get the tears out of your system. The heavy feeling in your heart of the loss being there still once you finally stopped crying after a few minutes. Soon falling back into a routine despite this sad feeling in your system. Taking a morning shower, eating a small breakfast, and simply preparing for a day of a stalemate with mind and body. Knowing the most you could do would count on the mourning your mind was dealing with. Deciding after this realization you should check on your mourning friend Yamato. Knowing he was most likely taking this all in and horribly.

Kakashi was Yamato's everything. Even you noticed that and it was obvious many others took notice of such, and you decided to check and spend the day with the brunette who was most likely a mess this morning with how poorly he handled his emotions due to his time with the ANBU Black Ops had seemed to destroy that human right he had. Walking out the door of your home to go see Yamato.

* * *

Well you were right about the thought of Yamato's emotions being to much for him. Having seen the door to his and Kakashi's home was slightly ajar had been enough to tell you he was either awake all night, or didn't care if his door was open and allowed someone to steal all his belongings. It was a rash idea, but it was the best you had seeing as he wasn't drunk last time you saw him.

Though it seemed his state of mind had changed in the few hours since you last saw each other. Since the moment you walked into the home the smell of a strong alcoholic drink wafted into your nose. Making you almost gag simply with how it had came from almost no where. Even if it was faint, the general surprise made you blink a bit and you closed the door behind you. Slowly walking as you entered the house and calling out "Yamato?" to see where the brunette was.

Finding him wasn't a mistake, but it was certainly not something to take pride in with how he was laying on the couch curled up and holding a bottle to his chest in his hand. Wearing only a pair of loose pants you could only guess were Kakashi's with how they fit the sleeping male's legs and looking generally speaking like a mess, it was pitiful to say the least. Yamato was still asleep though, and this left you with just a few chores just to make sure he wasn't in poor health when he got up.

Taking the bottle from his hand and setting it away you simply had to look around for a good minute before finding a piece of paper and pen. Writing a short note to Yamato that he should take it easy on everything and visit you later if he wanted too. Also leaving a glass of water on the glass table near the couch. You would have given yourself a try at picking him up too, but seeing he was asleep you let Yamato sleep what would be a good hangover off. Leaving quietly and knowing he would most likely question you for coming into his home later in the day.

This minor meeting of a sleeping shinobi and yourself would be the most eventful thing to happen during the day. The rest being a very simple action of check on other people such as Guy (who you saw was training with his students and being generally chipper once again) and what was left of Team 7 as of the moment. The group seeming calmer then the usual and Sai speaking none other then Sakura and Naruto, who seemed to still be going through denial. The two repeating "I can't believe he's actually gone" during the short conversation you three shared.

You were in denial as well, but you knew he had to be gone. You had seen his body in his coffin, eyes closed and the face of a warrior of died but didn't deserve it. This left the rest of the day somber for you. Having went home to try and busy yourself and keep your mind off it. Having been given a break from work with the recent events of your losses.

Your night would change this want to stay home though. Yamato never having visited you gave up on staying up once midnight began to roll around, and you began to prepare for another night of restless tossing and turning. Something caught your eye though when you walked into the hall of your home, the closet was somewhat open.

Remembering having closed the door the night before you began walking up to the closet, and after a moment of thought opened it fully. Your eyes widening as you saw a faint shadow that didn't belong to you. The shadow not even a full black, but it seemed to change and move before misting away.

You let out a small shriek of sorts at this odd sight, and suspected it was an intruder. Though nothing else happened after other then hearing a voice that sent a chill to your spine and made you freeze entirely.

"Calm down."

The simple statement had been enough to make you realize what-who, was standing there as a shadow.
Kakashi Hatake.
