The rain had continued to fall heavily throughout the night and into the next morning. Harry lay with a sleeping Kat in his arms and listened to it. The isolation he felt when the rain came, was almost always coupled with the sadness of missing home. Missing the grey days of his youth where the rain would tumble turning everything to black sludge.

The difference of course in Bali was the temperature only dropped marginally whilst it was raining and when it was finished raining everything that was once limp from the heat was refreshed and vibrant again. Harry always took some time to soak up that renewed feeling, but it never really changed anything. Holding Kate to him he felt Happy. He was actually, for the first time in a long time happy.

The lack of bird noise indicated to Harry that things weren't about to let up. That the rain was likely to keep falling all day. It was also a strong indication that the roads back out of his village and down the mountain would be flooded. They'd be stuck for the day at least, if that was the case.

He was thinking about what they could do for the day as he felt her shift and heard her voice croak. "Hey."

"Good morning beautiful." Harry placed a kiss on her forehead. "Sleep well?"

"Hmmhmmm I forgot where I was when I first woke up." Harry smiled at the thought that she was comfortable enough to sleep so deeply.

"Is it still raining?" Kat raised her head to look towards the window.

"Yeah." He confirmed even though she could see the rain lashing the window. "You hungry? I'm starving."

"A little." She agreed as she snuggled into him further.

"Come on we'll get breakfast, and then we can plan our day of lazing about together. I think another day like yesterday is exactly what I need right now."

Kat smiled up into Harry's face liking the idea of exactly what they had done yesterday repeating itself.

She ran her hand slowly down his bare arm.

Harry nuzzled her head again before mumbling into it. "If you start that we'll never eat." Kat pulled from him laughing as she rolled over to her side of the bed to stand.

Kat had just finished eating when there was a loud knock on the door, before Harry's name was called.

"In the kitchen Ketut." He called out.

An young boy of about nine came rushing in and stopped short when he saw Kat sitting at the table.

His eyes boggled open at her as he appeared shocked to see someone else there.

"Ketut, this is my friend Kate." He grinned at the boy before adding. "Kate, this is my very best buddy from next door. Ketut."

"It's nice to meet you Ketut." Kat waved at him as she smiled.

Ketut stayed motionless staring at her.

"It's not nice to stare like that buddy. Say Hello." Harry prodded.

Ketut dropped his eyes before squeaking, "Hello."

Kat's smile grew wider, he reminded her of the young Aboriginal kids she sometimes encountered back home. "Hello." She offered back to him.

His eyes flicked to her and when they met her eyes, he dropped them to the floor again.

Harry chuckled. He'd never seen the boy so quiet before. Deciding to rescue him he walked closer and asked. "What are you doing out in the rain?

Now that Harry was closer he seemed to garner some confidence as he looked up at him, eyes wide with excitement. "Road's gone. Ayah, told me to come tell you."
