When Kat woke, Harry was still sleeping soundly beside her. She didn't regret last night, but she knew it had been foolish on her part. She looked down at Harry's curls, flattened in sleep and realised that she was totally screwed. She knew she would easily fall deeper into him and probably in love with him by the time she left if she didn't stop things from going any further that day.

Every logical thought she had contradicted the fact that she could be in love with him after such a short time span, but in her heart she knew the thought of leaving him almost brought tears to her eyes.

As she lay there contemplating that notion something felt off. It took her a moment to realise what was missing. It was the rain. It had finally stopped raining. That meant she'd be heading back to town when Harry eventually woke. For the first time in twenty four hours it wasn't relief she was feeling.

Kat snuggled a little deeper into Harry, she closed her eyes and willed herself to sleep by his side just a little longer.

When Harry woke, it was to the sound of birds and he knew instantly that the rain had stopped.

Kate had shifted away from his body as they'd slept and was only pinning his hand with her arm. He didn't want to disturb her, but he was desperate for a piss and had to get up.

He was gentle as he eased off the bed and walked down the hall to the bathroom. After he'd finished, he headed out to the kitchen to have a good look outside without chancing waking Kate by opening the sheer curtains even further.

The moment he rounded the corner, he saw the sun filtering in onto the kitchen floor. Whatever clouds that had hung over the mountains for the past two days were long gone. His shoulders sagged slightly as he sighed, knowing that he'd have to take her back soon. The only thing that slightly gave him hope was everything she had said the previous night.

He quietly made himself a cup of tea and took it to drink on the veranda. It's where Harry was sitting when Ketut rounded the corner of the house.

"Ketut." Harry nodded "Alright?"

"Alright Harry." Ketut sat on the steps at Harry's feet. "Where Kate?"

"Sleeping." Harry answered softly. "Are the roads clear?" He dreaded the answer, but had to ask it.

"Nearly. Dad said about an hour and it will be clear. You going to town?" Harry nodded to confirm he was. "You taking Kate to Kuta?"

"Yeah." His voice reflecting exactly how he felt about it.

"Mum said she'll come back." Ketut smiled at Harry. Harry couldn't fathom how the kid knew what he was thinking and that he was still afraid he'd lost her.

"I hope so mate." Harry drank the last of his tea, before he stood. "I should probably go wake her." He gestured with his head back towards the bedroom.

"Ok. See you Harry." Ketut waved and started to head back home.

Harry slowly made his way back into the house and to the bedroom.

Kate had turned in her sleep and was almost curled into ball. Her face now shielded from the sun that was beginning to crawl over the bed to where she lay.

Harry was instantly reminded of a horror movie about vampires caught in the sun. Once it touched them it was all over. It was a pretty fucked up metaphor, but he couldn't help but think it.

He sat as gently on the bed as he could so not to disturb her and just watched her sleep. Her face was peaceful, her lips parted slightly, her brow unfurrowed. Her hair spilling out behind her on the pillow in a tangled mess. Her shoulders against the white of the sheets showed the evidence of her tan after the week she had spent in the sun. The sheet tucked under her arms shielded the rest of her naked body from sight.
