Chapter Five

I woke up and got changed quickly. I grabbed my bag and ran to the subway. I got my phone out of my bag.

Me- Wanna ride the subway with me to school?

Farkle- Sure. Did you ask Riley too?

Me- If she's still mad at me she'd probably just say no.

Farkle- I'll bring her with me. I don't thinks she's still mad or anything. Be there in like five minutes.

Me- Okay.

I sighed and put my phone back in my pocket. I really hope Riley's not still mad. I sat down on a bench and heard my name being called. Farkle said five minutes, but he got here fast. I turned and looked for Farkle, but Lucas was running over to me.

"Maya!"

I rolled my eyes and stood up. I started walking away and he ran and stopped in front of me. I crossed my arms and glared at him.

"What?" I snapped

He rolled his eyes and pointed towards the bench.

"Can we sit down?" He asked out of breath

"No." I said

"Maya, can we just sit and talk about what happened last night?"

I sighed and nodded. He smiled and I rolled my eyes as I sat down and he sat down next to me.

"I was drunk and I didn't know what I was doing or saying. It was a mistake. That's it."

He gave me a sad look and I kinda felt bad. I was going to say something but he stood up and walked away from me without saying anything else. What the-

"Hey Maya!"

I smiled and stood up. Farkle and Riley walked over to me and Farkle gave me a hug. I looked at Riley and she smiled as she gave me an even bigger hug. She's not mad anymore.

"Maya, I overreacted yesterday. I just want to make sure that you don't turn into one of our old friends who got close with Lucas. I'm sorry." She said looking down

"Riles, I'm not mad or anything. I knew you were just trying to protect me. Thank you." I smiled

She gave me a huge smile and interlocked our arms as we walked into the subway with Farkle next to us.

"We don't have our first class together." Riley frowned

I shut my locker and looked at her.

"I have other classes with you." I said

She nodded and gave me a smile. Farkle walked up to us with his books.

"Maya we have history down the hall." He said

I nodded and Riley frowned again.

"You both have history together and I'm all alone." She said looking at her books

Farkle and I chuckled and I gave her a quick hug before walking down the hall with Farkle.

"I told you she wouldn't be mad at you anymore."

"I know, I'm just relieved that she's not. You guys are my only friends, and you're super cool." I said nudging him when I said the last part

Farkle looked slightly shocked and he held his books a little closer to him. I giggled.

"Cool? I've never been called cool before. Well, Lucas used to call me cool before-"

He stopped talking and I looked at him. He shook his head and gave me a fake smile.
