Chapter Two

Riley and I walked out of our last class together and went to our lockers. Farkle's last class isn't the same one as mine, so Riley and I are going to wait for him in the hall.

"Wanna go to Topanga's? My moms owns it." Riley asked

"Your mom owns Topanga's?"

Topanga's is where my mom and I ate when we got here. After we finished with all of our stuff, we went there to eat and relax.

Riley nodded.

"Yeah, so you wanna come with Farkle and I?" She asked

"Sure." I shrugged

She smiled.

"Okay, I'll go get Farkle. I'll be right back!" She said excitedly

I nodded and giggled as she ran off to get Farkle. I pulled out my phone and texted my mom.

Me- I made friends and I'm going to Topanga's.

Mom- Okay, I might not be home when you get back. First day at work. Love you.

I put my phone in my pocket and started walking. I bumped into someone.

"Sorry, I-"

"Hey Maya."

I looked up. Lucas. I groaned and looked around for Riley and Farkle.

"Where're your friends?" He asked

"Riley went to go get Farkle."

"She left?"

"She went to go get him."

"Okay, wanna hang out with me and my friends?"

"No." I said starting to walk away

He walked next to me and I rolled my eyes.

"What?" I snapped

"Want me to show you around?"

"No."

"Maya-"

"Leave me alone. I don't need you getting me into trouble!"

I turned and started running down the hall. I bumped into someone, again. They were holding a bowl of something and I heard a scream.

"Maya Hart!"

Uh oh. I spilled the principal's food all over her. I looked up at her as she glared at me.

"You have detention!"

"But I-"

"After school detention now!" She said angrily

I nodded and turned around. I could hear her picking up her food from the floor and rolled my eyes. Detention? Ugh! I pulled out my phone as I walked to detention.

Me- Hey Riley, I can't go to Topanga's.

Riley- Why? 😭

I laughed.

Me- I got detention.

Riley- What?! How?!

Me- I ran into the principal and spilled food all over her.

Riley- Why were you running?

Me- I was running away from Lucas.

Riley- Ohhhhhhh.

I walked into the classroom that Farkle said was for detention when we were walking earlier. I sat down and saw that it said we can't use our phones. I sighed.
