Surprises do come in packages. Sometimes small and sometimes big.But what we are afraid of are those surprises which come in very unexpected and unwanted way. We don't want those surprises, we just want to stay away from such surprises. Because we know that kind of surprises could rather ruin our life than to give us smile.
the Irritating noise of whistle blew my mind.
God my ears hurts. What's happening ? I abruptly wake up from my, hardly peaceful sleep.
" What's going on ? " I wake up terrified and see mom holding birthday whistle in her hand. I see her smiling .
She again blows that whistle ,and I put hands on my ears to block the irritation.
" It's Arya's birthday, Jackson !" She jumped in excitement.
Omg ! How did I forget ? It's her birthday. These hospitals hours are rotting my brain. I almost forgot my child's birthday.
" Don't tell me you forgot " she puts her hands on her hips.
" I did not ! " I say as I scratch my back hairs. While I knew I did almost forget.
"There she comes the birthday girl "
I follow mom's direction and see Aarya coming through the door. She was crawling first ,but as she enters she stand up on her own. Taking small baby steps towards my bed.
Oh god, she has grown so much and so fast, I could feel my eyes filled with tears.
I get off the bed and ran to get her in my lap. I throw her up in air. Her luminous smile is capable of making my worse day make right.
" Happy birthday ,Princess! " I kiss her tender cheeks. She giggles. How cute !.
Never have I thought that I would be devouring such joy in my life.Since the day she has born, I have been the happiest person in life.
I wanted her to see our child walk like I did. I wanted her to see Aarya speak her first wobbling broken word. Her first sketch, her attempt of eating food by herself and failing miserably.
I smile at the thought.
You should have been here lexie. Are you here somewhere ?.
I feel the air around me touching like lexie was just around somewhere.perhaps near me ,standing by my side. Seeing the joy on my face.
I took a deep breath inside, to feel every aspect of this moment. As though lexie was too enjoying our child's first birthday. I had Arya in my arms. I close my eyes momentarily.
Suddenly my body shiver with unusual sparks. I felt as though lexie touch my shoulder and she was indicating me that she hasn't gone anywhere. I took a deep breath in awe of amusement. Contentment feeling with each exhaled and inhale.
I miss you !
I love you !
I said as I imagined her standing beside me.
"Jackson !! " mom exclaimed putting her hand over my shoulder.
I look to mom as she brought me back to reality.
"I miss her Mom ! I Miss her !"
"I know son ! "
I walked through the E.R. with a high bunch of files in my hands. I had to take them to the Chiefs office. She asked me to fetch them. As I was way up to the office. I saw Dr.April running along with her subordinate interns. I walk to her and tap on her shoulder gently.
