Jezemine and the men rode on, straight to the edge of their kingdom's territory after receiving a letter from the supreme commander to go there. Jezemine may not have looked like it, but he was excited because he was doing something like this when he was just an heir to a position. Then again, he shouldn't have been surprised. After all, everyone wanted their heirs to be well trained and he was no exception from that rule.
His thoughts were halted abruptly though, by the sound of voices. Voices that were getting louder the closer they got to their destination. "What are we waiting for? Why don't we just enter your kingdom already?" A female voice spoke out, impatience clear even from how far they were.
To the utter shock of Jezemine and the men riding with him the voice to answer back belonged to none other than their supreme commander, Commander Geoffrey. "This kingdom is not only mine, it is yours as well." A moment passed where it seemed as if he was contemplating something. "We are waiting for something."
"Can't we just go already?!" Alala's frustration was clear the moment she opened her mouth to say that, even as they entered the clearing, but the men couldn't help themselves but to question the female's presence there.
No one though, thought as hard as Jezemine, for thoughts practically flooded his brain. The one Commander Geoffrey was speaking so informally to, who is she? She reminded him eerily of the dragons born of the Xythan bloodline of his kingdom. The way she held herself, as if she was sure she could take us all down easily. Her way of speaking, blunt and unwavering, though slightly jovial at some points. The way her eyes and hair have that curious shade of reddish-brown that kept changing its intensity, as if it was always at a constant war between brown and red.
Such were the intensity of his thoughts before suddenly, his musings were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. "Jezemine?"
He looked up while straightening himself out, utterly embarrassed, having heard the girl snicker. The usual response resurfaced in his brain at that. Curse this wretched name and my stupid womanly features! "Yes, Commander Geoffrey?"
"I trust you have brought the horses I requested?"
"Yes, indeed I have." Raising his hand, he waved it forward and immediately, the commander's reddish-brown warhorse was brought forward along with its colt, that followed obediently after it.
"Thank you, Jezemine." He nodded my head. Again, the girl seemed to find his name highly amusing, snickering as she did. He decided to forget what he said earlier, the girl was certainly not of the Xythan bloodline!
Without any help the commander pulled himself up unto his horse and as usual amazed him at how smoothly he did it. For it was as if the horse was not a warhorse, but merely a part of himself that he decided he wanted to use again. Realization hit Jezemine though in the next moment, that the colt could be for no one else but the female, so he began to step down from my own horse to help her, silently berating Commander Geoffrey along the way. Commander, you did not take into consideration that warhorses are not for females to ride and a colt even more so!
However, as he was lamenting Commander Geoffrey's utter thoughtlessness for the girl's comfort, he was utterly shocked. The girl, for she could be nothing else but a child, small as she was, jumped unto her colt as effortlessly as their supreme commander would and he had a brief thought that the supreme commander must've looked quite similar to her when he was younger flash through his mind. Shaking his head at the nonsensical thought, he followed Commander Geoffrey as he lead their way back to the kingdom.
Surprisingly, Alala was able to keep silent the whole time they traveled to the castle. Even as they passed the gate, large, blue and thick, that protected the whole kingdom, she kept silent. No matter how many stalls and houses made of stones, she kept her silence, only looking around curiously.
