A sleek furred body slithered into the moonlit clearing. She was the last one again. Three others stood in the clearing watching the pool.
"Ah RippleStar you came." A patient voice spoke from the shadows.
"It's like your grateful for her presence OakStar!" Another hissed, "she took her time.."
"We must not fight." The final cat spoke. "This could change the future of the clans."
"It's just like thunderclan to keep us together. It's just like you BriarStar." The second cat spoke again but more calmly. "But your right."
"I'm sorry I'm late but we must start." RippleStar stepped out into the moonlight, her grey blue pelt glowed. "I'm sorry if I agitated you ThistleStar." She dipped her head.
The cats surrounded the small pool and looked at each other expectantly.
"Who wants to choose first?" ThistleStar questioned, for once he kept his golden fur calm.
"I will if no one else." OakStar huffed. His green eyes glinted as he dipped a tabby paw into the pool sending ripples through it. An image of two cats appeared. A Tom and a female apprentice. They were being made to check the elders for ticks. Neither were happy about it.
"This is my choice for ShadowClan." OakStar continued.
"That was a good choice." RippleStar nodded, "they will make the new clan strong." The others nodded in agreement.
"I will make my choice for WindClan next." ThistleStar meowed dipping a paw into the cold water. It rippled through the vision of the two WindClan cats and changed to two more. A small she-cat with a blue collar, the collar was hanging off as if she had desperately tried to claw it off. She was playing with an unusually small kit.
"A kit and a kittypet!" RippleStar burst out, "will they even be strong enough to make the journey!?"
"We need young cats to start the clans as well. And a clan started by a kittypet will be a fair clan." BriarStar mused. "I say we should stick with that choice."
"I was going to stick with it anyway!" ThistleStar snapped, "and why are you being so quiet OakStar! I bet you think my old clan is weak."
"I think it's a good idea too... Don't be so quick to conclusions!" OakStar answered gently.
"I guess I'll go next." RippleStar stepped forward and dropped her paw into the rippling water. The vision changed to show two siblings. A Tom and a she-cat. The she-cat was guiding her brother with his tail. He was blind.
"Hypocrite..." ThistleStar murmured loudly but RippleStar ignored him.
"He may be blind but he can fight and knows a lot  about herbs. This is my choice for RiverClan!" Her voice went squeaky at the end but she hid it by coughing.
"And you left the best till last." BriarStar stepped forward and dunked her paw in. A new vision appeared. This one was of a silver grey female medicine cat pulling a thorn out of a warriors paw. The Tom held in his pain but failed. The she-cat giggled.
"This is my choice for ThunderClan. I guess we're set." BriarStar summed up. The other three nodded.
"Go and call your two cats through their dreams. Good luck!" OakStar called over his shoulder as he walked away. The four past leaders went in their separate directions. The quest was starting.

(Was this a good Prologue so far? This will be my main story from now on. Enjoy!)
