Once Milton Fine had saved Clark, he has this strange tingling inside him that is making him change; change into a better person.

The sky had darkened and the starts are shining bright. Milton Fine had vanished into an abandoned place that is now being inhabited with homeless people. As usual, he returns with his face pale and sweaty; always out of breath. He needs energy. He's wanting energy. Every time he returns, all he hungers for is energy.

Of course, as an Artificial Intelligence made in Krypton, he is fueled with electricity, but now he's loosing it. All because of Zod. Once he released him, Fine was expecting something in return for bringing him on Earth. But instead, Zod has taken all Fine's energy to help him get his powers back.

Curse him! Fine would say, whenever the memory comes.

But I have a plan. Fine smirks and super-speeds to Metropolis's main electricity and transfers it to him. He screams from the pain, yet it is still excruciating. This always gives him strength, but for a limited amount of time. He wants his strength to last forever!

He saved Clark because he knew that Clark would be naive enough to help him. To "re-pay" him for the good deed he did to Clark. Fine cannot wait for the day when Clark comes in and gives back for helping him.

Milton Fine laughs at the thought of it and it grows louder and louder.

The power always goes out in Metropolis, but no one ever understood why. When workers check, nothing seems to be wrong.

"Oh, man, not again!" Chloe groans when her computer and everything around her shuts down. This is the 1 millionth time when the power went out.

"There has to be something behind all this." Chloe digs in her desk drawer for a flashlight. "My document better be saved or else I'll kill somebody." Chloe mutters under her breath. She packs her bags and walk out of the Daily Planet.

The street is dark and empty; only lit by the street lights. She walks to her car, unlocks it and enter. Turning on the ignition, she sees a shadowy figure standing in the corner of the street. She squints her eyes, guessing who it could be. Then it vanishes.

"Well, okay..." Chloe's heart beats faster and her hands shake. She's about to dial Clark's number in case something happens.

CRASH!

Her car window breaks, but before she could react, someone grabs her and putting a handkerchief mixed with Chloride in front of her mouth, making her unable to breathe. She fights back, but she starts to feel weak. Before passing out, she hears a familiar voice.

Brainiac? Chloe thinks to herself and then passes out cold.
