It's been a couple of months since the destruction of Beacon Hills. A couple of months since I've discovered Sara's secret life. She hasn't been back yet and I have no idea where the hell she could be. Oliver had left Beacon Hills to go defend Gotham, on the other side of the country.
The pack?
I've joined them but nobody has tried to kill us, like Stiles always says and wonders. "It's too quiet." Stiles tells me as we sit in his jeep.
I always think about putting on the mask back on, go out for a night and save people. Be vigilant like Sara and Oliver was. Especially after Jason, the city's crime rate became higher. The Knight has left a scar on the city and that's the destruction. The chaos.
I stare at the window to see all the watermarks. Saving people felt great, but I'm not trained properly, neither am I good at it. "Stiles." I say and he looks over at me.
"Yeah." He says and looks right into my blue eyes.
"Do you ever think about saving the world?" I say looking at his brown eyes. He licks his lips and I always bring this up with him and he always denies me. He knows what I think about and that's putting the mask back on.
He sighs and stares away. "Drake, you almost died last-"
"-That's not what I asked." I say in a soft voice to stop him. I look away from him to look down at my black hoodie zipper.
"Look, before Sara left, before even Oliver left, he wanted one of us to protect you. To stop you from using that mask, ever again." He says and I shake my head. "Sara knew that you would want to, so I volunteered to stop you."
"I can handle myse-"
"-Drake you almost died last time, I worry and I care about you." He says like a brother to me. "It's not always going to be what you want, because the things you like will always have consequences." He says referring to Malia who left him to go find her mother, the desert wolf. "Heartbreak, death, you name it." It gets quiet and I understand.
We sit together in the car and I never knew why Stiles always brought me here in the woods late at night. Sometimes I felt like it would be a close relationship thing we had over the months. Like a family relationship. My dad and his dad don't get a long very well, but we managed to make our friendship work.
My phone buzzes and it's my dad wanting me back home immediately since it's important.
Dad: I need you right now, I have news for you.
"Stiles can you drop me off back home." I say looking at him and he nods. He stars his engine and starts backing up and then driving into the road again.
"What's up?" He asks me as we stop at a red light.
"My dad has news." I say and he looks at the light still. Once it turns green we don't talk and instead he continuous driving. He drives up into my driveway, and then he smiles a little at me.
"I'll see you tomorrow okay?" He asks me and I nod.
"Bye." I say opening his jeep door and walking out. I grab my phone and my bag off the chair and walk out with them in my hands. Stiles drives off and I see the living room lamp on and it's never on. Me and dad never turn any lights on, it's always the kitchen and our bedrooms.
Something is not right. I don't see any damage yet or screaming. I decide it's a weird occasion and open the door. I drop my stuff on the floor by the door as I shut the door and turn around.
