Background info I won't describe in the book: the setting is Sosuke's dorm. You used to have a crush on Rin and he had mutual feelings but you two never expressed your feelings for eachother. You felt like these feelings for Rin were useless because you thought he'd never like you so to get over him, you had Sosuke as a distraction. Sosuke genuinely likes you but feels guilty about dating you, since he knows Rin likes you as well.

What are you saying, Sosuke?" You look at your long time boyfriend with tears in your eyes. You couldn't believe what he just had said.

"I'm saying, I'm not right for you. I think you should see someone better suited for you."

You look at him with disbelief, "But, I love you. Why would I see someone else if I already knew who I wanted to be with?" You pause for a moment, the worst possible thing creeps into your thoughts.

Doesn't he return my feelings?

"Could it be that.. You don't share my feelings?" You lower your eyes, and wait for an answer.

Nothing. You look up, but all you see is a detached expression upon Sosuke's face.

I guess not.

"Well, I see I've been mistaken this whole time then. I'm sorry for being a waste of your time." You bite your lip, trying to hold back tears and quickly head out the door. You don't pay much attention to your surroundings as your jogging out of the academy, you bump into someone.

Sosuke sits in silence on Rin's bunk, staring at the wall.

Well, she's gone now. At least Rin won't be hurting anymore..I just hope she'll be okay.

Rin opens the door,

"Hey, (y/n) bumped into me. She was running through the halls, she looked like a wreck..Did you say something to her?"

"We broke up.."

"Oh.."

"Yeah..it's okay though, I lost interest in her.."

No I didn't..what am I saying?

"Huh? Why is that?" Rin cocks his head slightly,

"I don't know..she was just not my type, I guess."

No, that's not it, not at all..

"Type? You have a type? Why didn't you cut it off sooner then, instead of dragging it out this far?" Irritation could be easily sensed in Rin's voice.

"I guess it was just nice to have her around, you know?"

No, stop..

"No, I don't know." Rin's brow lowers, "you know what, I'm going to go find her." Rin grabs his jacket and heads out the door.

What am I doing? I didn't mean any of that stuff. Well, at least now Rin has an opportunity to be with her. I wish I could just tell him how I felt about this without hurting him.

*Sigh* Sosuke... I just, wow, this is more complicated than it needs to be.
