Haleys POV.
"So I presumed I had something rather important to worry about Mary." Connor said, cocking a eyebrow at me as I stared hard at the corner of the room where dust had collected.
"Okay."
"Mary, I'm serious."
"Okay."
"...Can you fucking look at me?!" I looked up to see Connor looking... upset? His eyebrows drawn together, and his lips tightly pressed against each other. "Thank you."
"It's okay." I replied, not breaking eye contact with him as his cheek twitched. There was a tense silence hanging in the air that was broken when someone knocked on the door.
Connor broke eye contact with me as he went to answer the door briskly. He pulled the handle straight open, letting the knocker have a good look inside, and letting me see who it was.
"Blue?"
"Nice to see you again Connor," Blue pushed past him fluidly, heading straight for me. "However, I'm not here for your company, I'm here for hers."
"Her has a name." I snapped and he cocked his head, scanning me as a small smirk came across his face.
"I'm here for Haleys." He repeated, a glint in his eye that I didn't recognize. "Lets go, shall we?"
"I don't think so."
"But I do sweetheart," Blue said, eyes wide. He laid a hand on my shoulder, pulling me closer to him. "And if I want something, usually it happens. No stupid little blonde girl can stop me. I don't know if your trying to be brave, or you are honestly stupid enough to disobey me but- "
"Hey, don't talk to her like that." Both of our heads snapped up, seeing Connor standing there, his hands in fists as he stood by the door, teeth gritted, eyes narrowed, feet spaced apart.
He was pissed.
"You think you can come in here, and speak to her like that, and I'm not going to do anything?" He snarled as he came towards us, pulling Blue's hand off my shoulder, yanking me upright and shoving me behind him. "Bullshit. I don't fucking work like that. When I offer someone protection, I stick by it."
There was a cold chill in the air, and then Blue smiled. His smile then began a full out grin and then he began to laugh, the deep, rich, fucked up sound echoing off the walls.
"Oh, that's good," He laughed, a distorted twinkle in his eyes. "You think you can threaten me of all people -"
"MY FUCKING GOD!" Both of their heads snapped towards me as I stood up, storming towards both of them. I put a hand on both of their chests and shoved hard, pushing them apart, and in Blue's case, knocking him to the floor in shock. "I am not a object! I am not something you can play with and protect! I am a woman who is able to, and will happily, kick anyones butt who comes within a inch of trying to fuck me off!"
"Haley, I swear to God -"
"OH COME AT ME CONNOR!" I screamed, shoving him again and again until he toppled to the ground, staring up at me like I was a wild animal. "FUCK YOU!" And with that I kicked him in the nuts and ran out as his groan resounded out, even into the corridor. I sprinted down the corridor, not hearing any footsteps behind me and this spurred me on even further.
I slammed the heel of my foot into the double door, breaking the lock and hearing the crash as the door shut. I turned around with heavy pants , seeing the multiple workers wearing hairnets and setting up for lunch who where all staring at me in shock, considering I'd just kicked open a locked door. I grinned and walked straight towards the nearest chair and stood on it.
