Blurb~ Tally can't wait to turn sixteen and become Pretty. Sixteen is the magic number that brings a transformation from a repellent Ugly into a stunningly attractive Pretty, and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks, Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend, Shay, isn't sure she wants to be Pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the Pretty world- and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn Pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.

Review~ Uglies is a face- paced, futuristic novel to fall in love with. This book is a real page turner, with exciting twists and turns and a cliffhanger that will leave you dying. I really enjoyed reading Uglies, because it is a such an out- there, futuristic book, but the author, cleverly ties in our existence. Not only is Uglies an adrenaline rushing book, it also pays attention to your sense of self and what you belief in. Do you really care about what you look like, or what other people think of you? Uglies had me questioning my own self confidence and in the end made me love this book even more.

Uglies is the first part of the trilogy, and I have just finished book 2 and onto the 3rd. I went out and bought all the books after I finished reading Uglies because the way the Author, Scott Westerfeld ended the book, was MIND-BLOWING! The cliffhanger was to die for and it really reflects how amazingly awesome of an author he is.

I give this book 8 OUT OF 10 STARS. Go out and read this book...or should I say 'go in' and read this book, you will absolutely not regret it.
