chapter 15: Third wheel and killer's revenge

The ability to add more diary users...

...At least they won't die if thier diary breaks.

I already read Deus' message that he sent to everyone. I haven't fully recovered from what happened in the last episode and 7th has probably already targeted me as well as Yukii and Yuno.

"Ryoko, are you okay?" Aru asked me, he's been worried about me ever since I was kidnapped.

"I'm fine."

"I heard that Kosaka's phone started telling the future."

"Yeah, that was 8th, 8th can add more diary user's, don't worry he won't die if his phone breaks."

"I see, thanks." Aru was about to leave the room when he stopped near the door. "And Ryoko, this time I won't let you get kidnapped."

Aru left the room after that, for some reason I feel something I've never felt before...

(The next day)

"Can I see your phone?" Yukii asks Kosaka.

"Sure, just don't break it. If that phone breaks I'll- Hey, what are you doing!?"

Yukii throws Kosaka's phone to the ground and it breaks.

Of course, Kosaka being stupid falls to the ground and starts rolling around.

Baka.

"Looks like Akise's and Ryoko's theory was right. And for Kosaka's sake, I'm glad."

"Of course it's right, Deus has a limited time to live why would he add more diary user's, that would make the game last longer." I said to Yukii.

"Yeah, that's true."

"Don't scare me like that!" Kosaka complained.

"It seems that 8th can add more diary user's, using their own diary as the main source."

Yukii was thinking about how was he going to protect himself. I was worried about something too. Iwao is still alive, and seeing how much we hurt his pride by escaping he might come back to kill me.

"So what's the plan to protect Yukii and Ryoko?"

"Wait what?" I said shocked.

"Are you serious?" Yukii asked.

"Yeah if you let us."

Yukii was about to check his diary when Hinata closed his phone.

"No diary, make your choice on your own."

"Okay."

"What about you Ryoko?"

I was still a bit shocked that they want to protect me too, after all I have a bit of a trust issue (okay, that was a big understatement) and after what happened at the hot springs my ability to trust people became worse.

But it's not like thier going to let me say no, especially Aru.

"Fine but only because you won't let me say no." I said.

"Yeah, we weren't going to let you say no." Aru said. "And this time I won't let you get kidnapped again, Ryoko."

I could feel my face getting red, it's wired I've never blushed before, what's wrong with me!?

Then I noticed that Aru was blushing more than me.

I hid my face before anyone could notice and quickly changed the subject.

"What's the plan that you guys had in mind?" I asked.

"Oh r-right, well we'll monitor you two at Kosaka's place. Nishijima will keep an eye out for anyone suspicious." Aru said.
