*Flashback*

We drove home in his Volvo, we chatted, laughed and talked about our plans for the future. When we got to my house we stared into each others eyes and. He leant in. Slowly, I did to I closed my eyes, like they did in the movies, but that was a mistake. I could feel him breathing down my neck getting closer and closer when....

*End of Flashback*

That was 1 week ago. That night was one of the worst nights of my life. As he leaned in he put his hand over my mouth and quickly turned me around, then tied my hands behind me. I thought this was all a game so I was laughing. The next few hours were just of me asking questions, 'Where are we going', 'What are you doing', 'Take this rope off my arms!!'. I eventually went to sleep. Or maybe he knocked me out. I don't know. All I know is that I woke up the next what I think was the next day in the middle of an abandon-looking town. 

I jolted up and just ran. Eventually I lost track of time and I felt really hungry. I sat down and started sobbing. What have I done!? I curled up in a ball, in the middle of an alleyway and cried. Cried, until I fell asleep.

When I woke up the sun was in the middle of the sky. My stomach rumbled as soon as I woke up, and my first breath awake was one of the worst I've ever breathed. My mouth felt like it had cactus' all over it. It was like a desert. I brought myself together and made check-list in my mind. 

- Get water/food

- Find a temporary shelter

- Find civilisation

I stood up and looked around. I saw that I had ran into a typical alleyway. Just dumpsters, surrounded by tall brick walls, and that horrible smell of old urine. When I had almost done a full 360, I found an A4 piece of paper stuck on the mouldy brick wall. As I walked over to it I realised that it was just an oversized envelope. 'This isn't for me', I thought, I mean how could someone just creep up in the middle of the night and stick and overly-sized envelope right above my head!? Plus it could be for anyone. 

I cautiously tore it off the wall and opened it. 

'Hello Lucy, 

This is your guidance speaking. Lol nah this is just a guy that doesn't want you to die. Kyle. Kyle, that's my name. So, how has the past 24 hours been? Horrible huh? This happened to me as well. When I was 17. But you don't need to hear my life story so, let's just get straight to the point. I'll give you some challenges, see if you can complete them, if you do there will be a reward. Trust me, you definitely want the reward. 

Just some background on this project. 13 people have died since this program started up in 1879, and so far 619 people have made it out alive. The odds are in your favour so if I was you I would start. You're first 'quest' is to find food.
