Chapter 11

They decided to meet up early the next morning in front of the school.

Isaac and Kate sat on the front steps of the school as they waited for the others. It took Jackson, Alicia, Meghan, and Scott about ten minutes to show up after Issac and Kate arrived.

But no sign of Eric.

"Where is he?" Isaac asked as he looked around the parking lot. A couple students parked and went to their morning practices. Eric should be here by now, especially with morning practices.

"I hope he's okay." Kate said as she looked around.

He ran fast up behind them, his bookbag drapped over one shoulder. He looked like he was rushed. "Hey."

Everyone turned around and saw him standing there.

"Where were you?" Isaac asked and crossed his arms.

Eric panted. "I ran."

Kate walked up beside him. "Why?"

"My Dad smashed my keys."

Kate looked at Eric's face. Noticing a mark under his eye. "What happened?" She asked as she went up to touch it gently. Eric whinced at her touch.

"I have to get to practice." Eric said.

"We need your information from yesterday." Isaac said.

"Kate can handle it. I gotta go." He said and sped walked off. He walked with a limp. The others thought nothing of it.

They stood in silence.

"Well, that was weird." Said Scott.

"Forget it." Isaac said, waving it off. "Information?"

"We read some things on supernatural creatures." Jackson said. "Especially witches."

"We read that witches would perform hexes on Halloween due to the chosen ones or something." Said Alicia.

"I think we all came up with some thing about the chosen ones." Said Scott. "Cause we found something too."

Isaac turned to Kate. "Did you and Eric find anything out considering the chosen ones?"

Kate shook her head. "No. But I did find something interesting out."

"What was it?" Asked Isaac.

"Ben died on Halloween."

Everyones eyes grew wide.

"And how come Eric decided to not tell us that very interesting detail?" Isaac asked.

Kate shrugged. "Said it wasn't a big deal. He's never really thought about it."

"I think we need to look up exactly what happened on Halloween in 2005." Isaac said. "My group found some great information in the library. We checked out a book and we should all look through it with Ben tonight."

"Sounds great." Scott said.

"Is this conversation over?" Kate asked.

"I can't tell if that's sarcasm or not." Isaac said.

Kate shook her head. "Just wanted to know if we were finished."

"Okay." Said Isaac. "We are finished." He looked at the others. "Now what? Class doesn't start for another 30 minutes."

"Let's head to the feild to get Eric on the topic as soon as possible." Jackson said.

Isaac nodded in approval. "You all cool with that?" Everyone nodded and headed around the school to the playing feild.
