Chapter 6.

"We're home." My mum shouts. Me and Riley quickly pull away from each other and Riley wipes her tear stained face. My mum runs up to me and hugs me. "It's nice to see you sweetie." She kisses my forehead and looks over at Riley. "Oh, and who's this." She says smiling at me. "Mother, this is Riley Mathews, she moved here not long ago." I say smiling at Riley. "Well hello Riley, are you staying for dinner." My mum asks her, I'm surprised she's even tolerating Riley, she's never the one to like any of the girls I bring home, but then again they were all dressed like sluts and would just go straight upstairs anyway.  "I was just leaving Mrs. Friar." Riley says smiling politely. "Oh, ok then hunny, Is Lucas taking you home." My mum says looking at me. "Yeh." I say. I kiss my mum on her forehead and grab my keys. "Ready to go?" I ask Riley. "Yes, thank you again Mrs. Friar for offering." Riley says smiling at my mum. "It's ok, it was nice to meet you." My mum says back. I open the door and Riley walks out with me following behind her. We walk out in silence and I open the door for Riley, she hops in, as do I. I start the engine and drive towards the ranch.

Riley's POV.

I couldn't believe that we were so close to kissing, and now everything had turned into a silent wreck. Me and Lucas had been avoiding each other for days, ever since he dropped me home and Maya had noticed to. "So what's up with you and Sundance." She asks me while we're sat at the bay window. "Nothing." I say avoiding having to tell her what happened. "Oh, really. Ring power!" She shouts holding up her hand with the ring on it. "Curses." I shout. We both laugh and I tell Maya some that happened. "So ranger Rick just wanted to protect you." She said, probably confused, as was I. "Yup." I nod my head. "So then why is it that, your ignoring each other." She asks me looking right at me, yes, I left out the part of the 'just-about' kiss. "There was a kiss wasn't there." She says sounding good like an excited 3 year old. "Well, there was...nearly." I say blushing while looking down, remembering the way his lips looked at that precise moment. "Omg, riles nearly got her first kiss!" Maya shouted. I held my hand over her mouth, but it was of course too late. "What!" My father said entering my room. I forgot to mention that we'd moved into our own house now. "Maya!" I say looking at her then at my dad then holding my hands out towards my dad. "Look what you did." I say. She just laughs awkwardly. "Ops." She says, getting up slowly then running out of the door. "Is this true." He asks. "No...maybe...yes, but it didn't happen so, goodbye." I walk up to the door and make him back away enough for me to close the door on him, I lock the door and reach for my phone on the bay window. "Riley, let me in!" My father moans like another little 3 year old. "No dad, it didn't happen, you don't need to know." I shout back. I hear my mum shouting to my dad. "Cory, leave her alone. She's older now, it's bound to happen." My mother says to him walking up the stairs. "I don't wanna." I can imagine my fathers face as a child who's just found out that the last toy he'd liked had gone. "Oh cory, come on hunny, let's get you some sghetti." My mum says, I laugh to my self, shaking my head. "It's not going to be cold right." My father asks. My mum doesn't reply and I grab my phone to text Maya.

Maya climbs thorough the window, we both look at each other and laugh. "I love him." She says. "Yeh me too." We both continue laughing until we decide to watch a movie.

Maya's POV.

Half way through the movie, topanga shouts us down. I walk behind Riley down the stairs and into the kitchen getting me excited for what i see right in front of me. Josh had come back from visiting his friends in Philly. "Josh." Riley says running into his arms. He hugs her tight and then they pull away. "Josh." I run towards him, into his arms. I was expecting him to push me away but this time he pulled me in. "Maya." He says. "Josh." I say hugging him tighter. "Wow not so tight." He laughs and we pull away. I laugh too as does everyone else. "It's good to see you again." He says. "Yeh you too." I say. "I meant Riley and cory and topanga, but yeh okay." He says. I laugh to try and make it funny and Riley gets my drift so laughs too. "I'm guessing your staying for dinner Maya?" Topanga asks me smiling. "I guess." I say smiling back. Auggie runs in to the house with a little girl following behind him. They stand in front of topanga and a scene plays out in front of me, leading topanga to pick Ava up and close the door right in her face. Auggie looks at her. "Mum, that was ma women." He says throwing his hands up. "Well, ya woman had to go." Topanga says picking him up and ruffling his curly hair. We all sit at the table and have dinner, talking to josh about his time in Philly. Dinner is soon finished and I go to help josh with the dishes. "Hi, need any help." I ask him, he turns around. "Hey and yeh, could you look at that water a minute to see if it's soapy enough." He asks me. I lean my head over and before I know it I'm being dunked into he water. I lift my head out turning to josh who's laughing his head off. "Josh it's not funny, soap got in my eye." I act out my eye burning and keep fanning it, he walks over to means blows in my eye. "Get me some tissue. He turns his head away from me and got a piece of tissue. I got a cup of off the draining board and filled it with the soapy water, Josh turned back around not noticing the cup yet. "Here we g-." I pour the cup over him and he slips falling on right on the floor, I start laughing and everyone rushes on from the dining room, once noticing what was going on they all start laughing. "Yeh, yeh, very funny. You got me good Maya." Josh says holding his hand out to me. "Now help me up." I grab a hold of his hand and he pulls me on top of him, I just stare into his eyes, before he switches the position around and he's on top of me, he reaches his hand up and I see auggie handing him the rinser thingy from the sink, he squirts it all over my face and I start to squeal, he stands up laughing at me. That's when I get up and chase him. "Oh, your gonna get it Joshua Mathews." I say, I catch up to him outside and pretend to slip. "Ow." I hold my knee and he rushes over to me. "Maya, I'm sorry are you ok?" He says kneeling by the side of me. "Riley now." Riley squirts the hose at him and I get away from the target laughing my head if with everyone else. Josh and me are now soaking and we are both laughing at each other. "Ok, that's enough." Josh says holding his hands up in defeat. "Yes that's enough now kids." Topanga says. "Maya you better get cleared up before you go, Josh you better get dry before you get into the guest bed." Cory looks at Riley. "And you better get a good nights sleep for school tomorrow.

Riley's POV.

Soon enough, Maya has left and I'm laying in my bed, thinking about everything. I really need to talk to Lucas soon, we need to figure this out. It's hurting me a lot that were not talking. I decide that I'm going to talk to him tomorrow and then close my eyes, ready to have a nice sleep for the day ahead tomorrow.
