Chapter 7.

Riley's POV.

I wake up and get ready for the day ahead of me, I put on a mustard long sleeve top, a floral skirt and pull on a pair of thigh high socks and put on my brown knee high boots. I walk downstairs and see auggie and my dad sat on the couch watching mr. Googly. "You started watching with out me." I say, ruffling auggies hair and sitting beside him. "Well you were too busy being a girl and doing all your girly things." Auggie says mocking a girls tone of voice. I laugh at him and sit at the table were my mum hands me a bowl of oatmeal. "Morning hunny." She says to me handing me the syrup, which I generously pour in my oatmeal.  "Morning." I say smiling. "You know, Riley we still need to talk about that 'kiss'." My dad says joining me at the table, auggie slowly follows behind him. "Cory, leave her alone." My mum says handing him and auggie a bowl of oatmeal to. "Yeh dad, it wasn't even a kiss." I say eating my oatmeal. He puts his hands up in the air. "Okay, okay." He says, all though I know that he's not going to let it go. I finish it up and help my mum wash, dry and put the dishes away. Maya walks through the door. "Hello Mathews'." She says smiling. "So she just walks in here." Josh says entering the kitchen. "Pretty much, yeh." My dad says. I grab my bag and me and Maya head out the door. We get in her truck and off to school we go. "So are you gonna talk to him today." She asks me breaking the silence. "Yep." I say. "Make sure not to be so hard on him riles." She says. "I won't be I just want to talk nicely." I nod my head at my answer. "Okay then." She laughs and turns the music on.

Maya's POV.

It funny how she doesn't think I know her by now, it wasn't hard to put the pieces together, Riley was simply an open book. Except for when it came to thinks like what she was going through. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen.

Lucas POV.

Me and Riley hadn't spoke ever since the kiss that nearly occurred, I had to admit I was so close to see why she made me feel like this, simple enough answer to a complicated question. If I felt something I knew it was her, if I didn't it was just me going through a faze. I really feel as if ignoring each other isn't helping the situation, we really need to talk. I walk into the school and zay rushes over to me. "Rumour is something happened between you and Riley and now missy is whispering things around." He says getting straight to the point, no 'hi Lucas, how are you?'. Just straight to Point. "And do you know what that thing missy is whispering around is?" I ask him, he looks at me and nods. "Man, she's told everyone." Zay says patting my shoulder. I run off trying to find Riley, I know this isn't going to go well.

I'd been looking for a while now and I couldn't find her anyway, but I'd spotted Maya at her locker, so where's Riley? I walk over to her. "Where's Riley?" I ask her a tint of worry in my voice. "Listen ranger rick, she's vulnerable right now and she doesn't need whatever speech you have to give her to make it worse." Maya says not looking at me. "Maya, in case you didn't know, I made a promise that I'd be there for her, so I need you to tell me where she is." I say getting frustrated. "Riley thought that she could handle it but she can't, she can't handle you right now either, just leave it alone Lucas, see I called you Lucas, that's how important it is that you leave her alone." Maya says dragging her words for longer. I hit the locker. "Flipping hell Maya, just tell me where she is." I say getting in her face. "Wow, cowboy watch yourself." Maya says. At that moment Riley walks up to us. "Let her go Lucas." She says, her voice so weak. I back away from Maya not taking my stare away from her until I see Riley. Her eyes were red and she had tear stains down her cheeks, she looked a mess, but still managed to look beautiful. I walk up to her placing my hand on her cheek, I lift her chin up to look me in the eye. She starts to cry and I pull her into a hug. "Riley, tell me and I'll take care of this right now." I say hugging her even tighter. "No Lucas, as much as I want it to stop, not like that." She says. I nod my head and look at Maya who had a tear slipping down her cheek. "I just want this to stop too." Maya says. I nod at her and take Riley by the hand to walk her to the bathroom, Maya follows behind us. I walk her to the door and look at Maya. "Get her cleaned up, I have an idea." I say to her, I go to walk away put Riley grabs my hand. "Don't do anything stupid Lucas, please." She says, looking into my eyes. "I won't." I smile at her and she lets go of my hand, then I walk off, to find her.
