Chapter 1 - The Beginning

As I walked into the hallway of this building, a feeling of nervousness

rushed through me. Its been a hell of a month you know. I just graduated

last month, been through a number of entrance exams and job interviews, not

to mention countless medical checkups just to be where I am right now.

The Lopez-Lucas Technologies Inc., one of the most popular and sought after

IT company in the Philippines. When I first entered this building, I already

knew that this is the right place for me. I have finally found the perfect

company where I could start and build my career as a Software Engineer. I

have worked hard to get this job and finally here I am, on my first day of

work. I am, of course nervous, but it is probably the same for others on

their first job after graduation.

<Hmmmm... Where should I be going? I remembered the receptionist at the

lobby said... "Go to the 27th floor, turn right then right then left." I've

already done that but there seems to be no one here. Gosh, maybe I heard her

wrong! It must have been 27th or 22nd??? huhu... Its my first day of work

and I'm gonna be late because I can't find the freaking briefing room! If

only I could->

"Excuse me miss?" says a voice behind my back.

Shocked, i quickly turned around and let out a soft scream of surprise!

"Hey! Relax! I'm sorry if I frightened you. I'm kinda new here. I was hoping

if you could tell me where is the briefing room of the L2-tech company. I

think I may be lost." The guy smiled at me while saying.

I blinked, "Uh... I was hoping you could tell me, I'm afraid I am having the

same problem as yours." I said while scratching my head.

"Uhuh. I'm pretty sure the receptionist told me to go to the 27th then

right, right then left."

"Yup!" <I said almost relieved since my hearing did not fail me after all>

"The receptionist told me too but this seems to be an empty floor."

"I wonder..."

The guy did not finished what he was going to say as we heard the elevator

bell rung. Someone is coming oh thank God! Its a bit awkward talking to a

stranger alone in an empty floor of a building. I almost wondered if he's a

ghost.

He looked so pale! He is good looking alright and he has a dashing smile,

white teeth and all, but still.

I looked at him as he was sensing who could be the the person who went out

on the elevator. Perhaps another lost soul? haha, silly of me to think that.

A moment has passed and we heard voices. A male voice was was now talking to

his group. They are getting closer. Anytime now...
