Chapter 9 - Assignment

I stayed a little longer at the 40th, just staring at the view. He was

really harsh at me. I wonder what could have caused his bad mood. I stared

at my watch, it's almost an hour.

I went down to the comfort room first to fix myself. When I got back at the

training room, Mr. Dom was the only person in the room. The other were still

probably down on the food lounge.

I cleared my throat and said, "I'm sorry Mr Dom, I thought the other went

back already."

He looked up at me and said, "It's ok Ms. Agustin, I actually wanted to

speak with you in private."

I never imagined Mr. Dom to be a maniac or something. He's an eccentric type

of sort, nevertheless, it't still best to be prepared. "Uh... About what?" I

asked nervously.

"Please sit down." He motioned to the chair in front of me. I did sit as he

James. Elizabeth's mods would have been harder to debug if you all noticed

it during the merging. You even asked the status of everybody and gladly

offered your help to Joan once you've finished debugging yours. That, I

think was remarkable. You have the qualities of being a leader." He finished

his long explanation.

Did I heard him correctly? Me? A leader?

I smiled back, "Really, Sir, that is very flattering." I blushed.

I'm really wrong about first impressions. When I look at Mr. Dom now, he

wasn't the strict and boring trainor he used to be in my eyes. He was just

being peculiar but he has keen eyes for observing things and he certainly

knows how to give credit to those who deserves it. I wasn't expecting to be

praised but he did made me feel happy and proud of what I'd done.

A few minutes later when we were all seated in the big rectangular table in

the middle of the training room, he spoke, "Congratulations to all of you!

Your final exam was almost close to perfect. I must say I've never
