Chapter 5 - Reunion

<That was one boring company meeting.> Val thought.

I glanced at my watch. 10:00. We should probably go back on the 27th. By

stairs as Mr. Lucas tolds us. The elevators would be full of employees going

back to their work places.

I see Mr. Lucas approaching us.

I leaned in to James and whispered, "I think he's in a bad mood..."

He looked confused, "Who is?"

"Mr. Lucas. He seems to be in a bad mood." I whispered again.

James looked at Mr. Lucas who was suddenly detained by talking to one of the

employee.

"Why do you say so?" James quirked his right brow.

"Well, didnt you noticed earlier? He's a jolly type of person. He always

smiles. Look at him now." I pointed at Mr. Lucas who seems to be irritated.

He looked again. "You do have a point. Hindi maipinta ang mukha nya.."

"What did you just say?" Liz butt in.

"I said," James looked at Liz, whispering, "Mr. Lucas's face cant be

painted. And, Val thinks he's in a bad mood."

Liz shot a glance towards Mr. Lucas then turned to us immediately, "Eh, your

right. I wonder why..."

"Hush now, He's coming." Joan whispered.

As Mr. Lucas approached us, he said, "Lets go. You'll have to finish

answering the questionnaires, then you can have your lunch break at 11:30."

<He didnt smiled. He didnt even looked at us. He was already ahead of us

"It is, indeed, odd..." James leaned into me to whisper.

We are back in the 27th floor briefing room. James sat next to me at my left

and Henry on my right. Liz sat on the other side next to Josh and Joan.

"Miss Sanchez." Mr. Lucas said in a serious tone.

Joan looked up to him surprised.

"Yes sir?"

"May I have a word with you in private."

"Yes. Ofcourse" Joan nodded.

I watched them as Mr. Lucas ushered her out of the room.

I wonder what's going on. Does Joan had anything to do with Mr. Lucas's

sudden change of mood?
