This hotel is absolutely, positively lovely. We all stay in regular rooms, but the hotel itself is spectacular. It has a beautiful fountain in the lobby, and the elevator button pusher man is very attractive. Arriana and I turned out to be roommates for this week, and while we are heading up to our room, she decides it would be a fantastic idea to flirt with the button pusher man. She twirls her hair and giggles and everything, but he just stands there like a statue. Absolutely no facial expression at all. And it is freaking hilarious.
I try to contain my laughter for the entire elevator ride, and I end up succeeding. I'm about to explode though. The minute Arianna and I have rolled our bags out of the elevator and the doors have closed, we both explode with laughter.
I am clutching my stomach the entire way down the hallway, and I can't even compose myself enough to open the door, so I hand off the key to Arianna, who is sane enough now to open the door without too many complications.
The room has two beds that are done up in pretty blue comforters with some big fluffy pillows. I flop down on the bed nearest to the window and say loudly, " I claim this bed in the name of chocolate."
Arriana chuckles, "Sounds good, Cassidy. " She picks up a schedule that is laid on the table between the beds, and here eyes become about ten times bigger than normal. "We have to be downstairs in the lobby in twenty minutes to go over to bootcamp."
Dear Lord.
I jump up from the bed and end up falling in a crumpled mess on the floor. Ow...
"You alright?" Arriana asks from where she is plugging in a curling iron so she can quickly touch up her hair.
"Yes," I say as I pick myself up from the floor. When I'm standing, I catch my reflection in a full length mirror that's situated on the back of the room's door. I am flabbergasted. I look like I got run over by a flippin truck. I frantically begin fixing myself up. I find my pink shorts, my white blouse, and my cute little owl necklace and begin to change. I have no time to change in the bathroom. I'm down to about 17 minutes now. That's definitely not enough time. I'm going to be on television for crying out loud!
Once I'm all changed, I ask Arriana if I can borrow her curling iron. She's done with it, so she says I can. I curl my hair just a bit so it doesn't look too nasty, and then I'm "ready." As ready as I can be for something like this.
Soon, Arriana and I are out the door and running down the hall to the elevator. To our dismay, we arrive just as the doors close.
"Shoot," Arriana mutters. Then her face lights up. "I feel like I wanna be a super hero right now." Then she sprints toward the stairwell further down the hallway. She gives me a salute and begins sliding down the railing. When she reaches the bottom of the flight of stairs she situates herself on the next railing and keeps on sliding.
I have nothing better to do, so I follow her lead and pray that I don't fall on my face.
Thankfully, I survive the trek down the railings of the staircases. Arriana and I arrive at the bus with about a minute to spare. Unfortunately, we're banished to the back where the other stragglers are sitting. I'm not too disappointed, though. I'm just glad we made it in time.
When the two of us are seated, I pull out my cell phone so I can talk to some people back home. I text Jen and my Mom, who send me some very very excited texts back. I then text Nate, who responds with a good luck and a request to skype later. I send him back about ten smiley faces and about twenty hearts. Yeah, I'm that girl.
Soon I have to bid him adieu as the bus comes to a stop in front of an arena where Boot Camp will be held. My butterflies are back and it feels like they're trying to escape the confines of my stomach by repetitively flying into the sides of my stomach. It's not too pleasant.
We're some of the last people off the bus, and it's just then that I notice that Chase Weller, the guy I ran into at the airport, was sitting behind us.
I address him, "Hey, Chase!"
"Hey, Cassidy." Then he looks at Arriana and holds out his hand in greeting. "I don't believe we've met before..."
Arriana shyly extends her hand to shake his. "I'm Arriana."
"Very nice to meet you," Chace smiles, and I catch a little twinkle in his eye. I have a feeling I know what may be coming.
